I think ohMom is trying to kill me (exercise related)

Ay, ay, ay!

ohMom was kind enough to come up with an exercise challenge for me to follow for a week. She sent if off in the mail last week and I got it last night and opened it this morning (only the truly lazy can wait until the last minute to open mail containing an exercise challenge).

Read her friendly note with the cute self-portrait (she says it looks like a clown, but it looks like her wearing a witch hat, ha ha!) ;)

Anyway, she photocopied some pages out of an old Self magazine she had. The first page shows a woman doing regular push ups (no bended knees) in the first picture, then lowering her upper body down, bending one knee and keeping ONE OF HER LEGS UP IN THE AIR!!! in the second picture! What the heck???!!! ;)

I am going to attempt this, but I wanted to have a few witnesses in case I die or break anything.... ;) hee hee!
 
I saw that article...Isn't there also the picture of the sideways crunches in that one and some ab work on the ball? I want to try those, but I can see that ball scooting out from under me and me landing on my.....well you guys know ;)

Good luck TIGH....set up a video camera for proof :)

Sounds like a real challenge to me, regular push ups....cough, cough...I don't think I know how to do them. Good luck, Karen and post back when you are done so we know you survived.
 
Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to remember TigH. All she wanted was a little more exercise...;)
 

She must be in a really BAD mood! She pm'd me this morning and said she thought she killed the WISHcon 2005 thread!!! Maybe we should see if she needs some type of counseling or something!! ;)
 
I'm still alive! But my arms are like jelly! Hmmm, does this sound like a coincidence? ohMom KNOWS I am going to a cheat night at EPCOT tonight (beer drinking around the world...) Funny how the exercise challenge arrived last night and the first exercises I had to do worked my drinking arm.... Hmmm. I think I might need a straw for my beer tonight, as I think my arms will be unable to hoist the plastic cup to my lips! ;)

ohMom, you rock! That workout whooped me! I learned that I am uncoordinated (w/ the first pushup thingy) and that the tricep dips from the chair only looked harder than they are. Cheated my way through the shoulder routine since they are my weakest body part right now - just used the collars on my weight bar instead of any real weights, otherwise my arms would have never left my side! ;) Hee hee! Thanks!!!!
 
Tig, so forgetfully omitted that I am doing that workout routine with her too this week!!!! I am one day ahead of her though and my sides have been achy all day from those push-ups! I told you my first set would've been quite funny for any on-lookers, but then I got the hang of it!

It certainly isn't cheating to only use the bars - remember I said do whatever works your muscles, just make sure they are fatigued by the last set and the last couple you think your eyeballs are going to pop out!

Don't feel bad Karebear, OhMom and I are in a buddy circle with TigH, Jimmytammy and alreadyexcitedgrammy, so it's easy to get us confused. Luckily OhMom is Tig's ASSIGNED buddy, and thankfully I haven't seen that evil pushup page thingy in my mailbox!!! Alreadyexcitedgrammy did challenge me to a 4 mile walk every morning for 5 days this week. Now THAT I think I can handle!:) ;) :p

geetey - I found this push-up on the shape website, it's in a different routine then Karen and I are doing this week, but if you just wanted that specific push-up here it is

Truthfully thanks for the link though, I'm goint to look into it..... I am also thinking of calling my personal trainer this week. We stopped training this winter because she was taking college courses and our schedules didn't match well and okay I was too wimpy to go out on the freezing cold mornings.
Her name is Sara, but I call her Sergeant Sara....I think that says it all!!!!
