This is our first trip, and I'm taking all this planning one step at a time! Therefore, I think I know which restaurants I want, but still don't know WHEN I'll eat at them. :) I'll be decided which parks for which days within the week, but so far, what do you think of my choices?

Here's the pertinent info: We are a group of 7, and within that group we have 4 vegetarians, three of whom are kids. So we need places that will entertain the kids, get the 2-year-old his food fairly quickly, and still have tasty options for the meat-eaters in our group. We will have 9 TS meals during our 10-day trip (on the Dining Plan). Here's my picks (highlighted are decided on for sure):

In MK (or nearby):
Chef Mickeys
Crystal Palace

In Resorts:
WWC
Boma

Ohana??
Hoop de doo (reservation made)

MGM:
Fantasmic dinner package, but WHERE?

Epcot:
Coral Reef (mostly to see the fish). Not sure about this one.
Biergarten (read several good veggie reviews). Other choice, Merrakesh? Other ideas for WC?

If we split some meals (which we plan to), we may add another character meal. Should it be 1900 Park Faire, Garden Grill, or LLT?

Ok, so I'm not as close to deciding as I thought!

I would suggest Mama Melrose for the Fantasmic Dinner package-we eat here every trip and it is always good.
In Epcot, we don't care for Coral Reef or Biergarten. For good food try Le Cellier or Marrakesh.
We enjoy Ohana and Kona so one of those is a great choice!
If you want to add another character meal add LTT or Garden Grill-they are different from the 2 you already chose.

I suggest going to Beaches and Cream or Spoodles if you can fit them in. Ohana and Kona Cafe are good choices. Garden Grill has had menu changes recently. It used to be good, then it got bad, and now I don't know what it is like. LTT is just okay, and doesn't have good characters.

The vegetarians among you might not like Biergarten. I'd recommend Marrakesh instead. For the Fantasmic package, we're doing Mama Melrose--there are a few vegetarian options there as well.

Biergarten could be tricky for vegetarians. But they should find enough to satisfy them. They won't be eating the best of Biergarten, unless they like beer or wine to compensate for the lack of meat.
The performers are very fun too. We enjoy eating there any time. :)But I have never eaten there with a vegetarian. You might find a vegetarian who has eaten there and see what their thoughts are.
To me, some of the best of Biergarten is the brats and other meats.

Biergarten (read several good veggie reviews).
Well -- must be okay. But Biergarten and vegetarians are not something I would think of together in the same sentence. ;)

I just made my ADR's today and some of the places I chose were:

Le Cellier (steakhouse, but still has things for vegetarians)
L'Originale Alfredo di Roma (pasta, vegetarians should be fine here)
Garden Grill (character meal, so it should entertain the kids, I believe it has a vegetarian option).

Boma

'Ohana (LOVE this place, haven't been since the menu changes though. They also have hula contests and coconut races for the kids. This does have mainly meat dishes though).
Crystal Palace

Holloywood & Vine (Fantasmic package, buffet, lots to choose from)

All of these except 'Ohana are new places, so I am very excited to try them. If you add an extra character meal I would choose 1900 PF (only because it's a buffet so it should have more options than GG or LTT).

Good Luck!!

I'm a vegetarian, and I was very pleased with the selection at Biergarten. I went there with a friend for the Candlelight Processional package, and I really wasn't expecting to find much to eat, but there were plenty of yummy vegetarian choices on the buffet. :)

I haven't tried Marrakesh yet, but I've heard that they have a great selection for vegetarians.

I was thinking about booking an ADR for Marrakesh in Epcot. Can anyone give me some information about the restaurant. I will be taking my 3 grandchildren, ages 6, 6 & 11. Also thinking about Le Cellier.

Thanks!

We ate at Biergarten tonight. :cloud9:
Dh commented on how good their potato salad is.
I think everything is good there. I really like the brats. (sliced into approx 3" bits.) And their sweet mustard sauce. :thumbsup2
DH is not too impressed with their desserts. I think they are fine. Nothing to brag about like Boma's Zebra Domes. :rotfl2: But good.

Thanks! I'm thinking of switching Biergarten for Merrakesh. Do the belly dancers always perform or at certain times? I'm thinking about entertainment for the kids. I want to be sure there's something going on to watch. Far better for Disney to entertain my kids than me! :rotfl2:
