Boy, can I ever relate. My cat's vet recommended we have my precious cat put to sleep but we kept her an additional 3 weeks (unable to make that decision). In those 3 weeks, I witnessed her suffer so very much that it was almost a relief when I called to make the appt.

I was 8.5 months pregnant at the time & was so physcially ill when we brought kitty in for the last time, that I vomited for 3 days. Almost had to be hospitalized. We had my little "Mishetta" for 15 years. They become your children, so I really do understand your pain. Just do it, if it will mean peace for your little fur~baby.

Bring plenty of kleenex with you & then come back to us so we can try to {{{{hug}}}}} your pain away.

Thanks to each and everyone of you for the hugs and kind words.
I talked to my BIL today (he's a vet) and told him that I really thought we were going to do this this coming week. He didn't try to talk me out of it or anything so I think he thinks I'm doing the right thing.

I think for the past year or so Bucky has been separating himself from me. Sleeping, (he used to sleep with us) and just not wanting to really even be in the living room with us-- I think he has been slowly preparing me for this.

I owe it to him not to let him suffer. It is just that I can't imagine life without him right now... I will have wonderful memories because he has been an incredible dog, friend and "furbaby".
I am so thankful that I have had 16 years with such a wonderful little dog. Truly, that dog has been a blessing to me. Thanks again. I know I'll be back for those hugs.
