I think I'm going to cry- Photos lost!

I am just beside myself here!!

I saved my Disney PhotoPass photos to an external hard drive because I sold my lap top last fall (it was a Mac). I just plugged it into my current laptop (PC) and I can't get the hard drive to work. I don't know if it's a format issue or if there's really nothing on it.

I'm going to go cry now!!

It could be as simple as that computer not able to support the software because of the age or lack a a java or adobe like feature. How long ago did you get the photos? If it was kind of recent there might be a chance that Disney would have them on a file under your photo pass number or it might be linked up with an annual pass if you have one? Try calling the main number and see how far the photos go back...but I would try linking up hard drive to another computer first.

Sorry to hear it, your heart must have just sank. Don't worry, I don't think they're lost. Do you have access to a Mac computer anywhere? I think that if you are on a Mac you will be able to open them. Sometimes pc computers just don't recognize the mac files or the format which they're saved. If you can open them on someone else's mac, just save them to a USB, or burn them to a disk. if worse comes to worse and you plug the external hard drive into the mac and you don't see the pics on there, you can usually have them restored. I know of a few places around here that can do it. They run a program to restore deleted files. Just call around and see who restores image files. Best of luck to you.

I did do a 'help' request at the PhotoPass site.

This was just last fall. I sold the mac in November. Trip was in August.

Hubby is fiddling with it now....If he can't find anything, there's a computer guy here in town that fixes mac computers...I will take the hard drive to him and see what he can do.

GUESS WHAT!????

My hubby found them!! I am so excited, so relieved, so happy!!!!!!!!!!!! He found a program to download to fix it- the HD formatted by the mac, that was the problem, I guess. He got them onto his lap top and put them on a USB stick, so I could get them into mine...I just put them on Snapfish, too.

Just wanted to post that this is one of my worst nightmares too. Just this past month, I uploaded all videos of my kiddo to youtube and now gonna upload the photos to an online storage (zoolz is giving out 100GB for free - there is a waitlist). My memory is kaput, so I need the pics and videos of all these great trips!
