Last week I posted a thread (Wish= Wish I still had motivation) There I explained how depressed I was. Thankfully some of you responded and your words helped....I have also started therapy and I think I'll be ok. Support has been wonderful once I opened up to those I love as the therapist suggested and though I'm not fully myself I feel better. This week has shown me what family, friends, prayer and a few good W.I.S.H. comments can do to heal a broken soul.:lovestruc As for my weight loss...well I need to get back on the wagon so to speak. Apparently slow steps help as aparently I was expecting too much and that added to my anxiety....
So, Monday morning I begin anew, less obsessed and demanding and trying to forgive myself if once more I fail. As before I said failure is not an option I have decided to try to accept that I may fail and thats ok...easier said than done but I will try. This is what I need from you:
1) If you believe in God....please pray for me.
2) I need to figure out what my specific calorie intake is...is there a website ?
3) Tell me, do you think seeing a nutritionist would help my goal or should I try following my own weight loss program? Do they pressure you into one program that they feel will work or is it more about teaching you about food?
I'll check in tomorrow and hopefully some of you will have something to say.

Samie:hug: Good for you! Glad you are on your way to being a better you. As for your questions:
Figuring out calories is relatively easy. Google BMR calculator and any number of websites will come up. You enter in your height, weight, gender and age and it will spit out a number. Your BMR(basal metabollic rate) is how many calories your body needs just to survive. Then you can calculate how many calories you need based on your activity level to MAINTAIN that weight. So for me, currently at 170lbs my BMR is 1520 or so. I run 6 days a week (except the past few days due to a stomach bug) so I am moderately active. I multiply 1520 by 1.55 (there is a chart with the numbers, not to worry) so I get something like 2200. So in order to lose, I need to drop 500 calories per day to lose 1 pound per week. I know that caloriesperhour.com has the calculator.
I think that seeing a REGISTERED DIETICIAN is a great idea-they are a great source of help. I had to see one when I was pregnant with DD due to gestational diabetes. They will work with you on a diet that you can live with that is balanced. If they try to push you toward a certain type, like Atkins or something, find another one.

I hope this info helps-PM me or post if I can offer any more help. Good luck to you!!

I like This Website for various calculators to figure out what you should be eating each day and what you should weigh, how long it will take you to lose the weight etc.

Hi Vern, thanks so much for your back up and for the BMI site info.:goodvibes I will go check it out now as I was just "planning" this weeks meals. I'm thinking a nice salad for lunch with either chicken or fish ea. day. Breakfast is where I have a hard time so I decided to check the boards and there was your post. I'll see about a dietician(if my ins. covers it) . Well thanks again and geez I hope you feel better, those bugs can be awful.
