The bird, not the team!

I remember seeing them (western PA) all the time when I was little, but not for a long time. Do you, wherever you live see them ever?

I think they are just called "Orioles" and the team was named after THEM. We see them sometimes here in Indiana.

I had them in Massachusetts. We would see them from time to time but the last two years I lived up there, 2003 and 2004, we got them to stay around the house. They love grape jelly! :teeth:

Here's two not so great photos of one of them approaching a plate with some jelly on it.

I really miss all the song birds we had in MA. There's nothing like it down here in Florida. Yesterday we did get a bit of a thrill though. I saw an Osprey chasing a Bald Eagle that had a fish in its talons. Talk about an OMG moment! :faint:

My mom gets them. What she does is nail half an orange to a tree. They love that. (so do the ants, pick a tree away from the house)

Nope, there are different kind of Orioles, but the Baltimore Orioles were birds before they were baseball player! :)

Cool pictures! Thanks for sharing them!

I saw one in my yard a few weeks ago.

I am in Southwestern Ontario, Canada (not too far from Detroit, Michigan).

We have them up at our property in Door County, Wisconsin. We have an Oriole feeder out. :sunny:

Thanks. I didn't know that. I guess I should amend my answer to say that we have Orioles in Indiana that look like the picture - but I haven't asked them if they were from Baltimore. ;)
