"I think I need my head examined" A camsmomE TR in AUG 2010 <<Updated 11/02/10>&g

I am loving your trip report. I can't pick out one favorite pic of Cam, they are all so cute and make you want to reach right through the monitor and pinch her cheeks. :goodvibes

I received your pm, and yes, we were on the bus to/from Hollywood Studios on Friday. I wish I would have remembered your faces from your pretrip, it would have been nice to say hi.

I LOVE the quotes! Thank you so much for sharing them with me! I am definitely going to use those! “Teenagers! They think they know everything. You give them an inch, they swim all over you” is my favorite!! :goodvibes

That goes for ALLLLLLLLLL children trust me:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

I had a lot of catching up to do!

That was a rough morning at the MK, but you guys sure rallied well!

The food picks from 'Ohana are great!

Sorry, Stace, I have to hijack for a moment :)

I was just reading your Dining Reviews and your thread is closed so I couldn't reply to you there! I just finished your review of Mama Melrose's and my jaw dropped when I saw the picture of your supposed "gelato." :scared1: Whatever they gave you was NOT the gelato! I was just there this past October (and previously in 2008) and I got the gelato both times. It was chocolate ice cream...BOTH TIMES! I have no idea what they served you but it definitely was NOT the gelato! There is a picture in my Oct 2009 TR (the link is in my siggy), and there is a chapter link so you can get right to it.

OK, that's all, I just had to get that off my chest!

Hey Simba22
Thanks for reading my dining review - don't worry I made sure I ate plenty of ice cream during the rest of my trip to make up for it

Wow, I had a lot to catch up on

Firstly the photo of Cam pointing at the castle is priceless :lovestruc

The stroller situation was just terrible, so dangerous and the company who made it should be ashamed

It looks like the rest of your day worked out fine and your meal at Ohana looks wonderful, funny how a Lapu Lapu makes the world a better place

:rotfl: I just picked up a mister fan today. I was going back through your tr (showing my dd some pics) and I wanted to show her the stroller that broke. I had to laugh when I noticed that in the pic of Cam in the stroller...she has a fan..and guess what..that is the exact fan I picked up today. This sparked the whole "mr." fan thing. :rotfl: My dd thinks I am insane.... Anyway...just had to share that you have put a little joy into my life with your tr and made my dd question my sanity.:rolleyes1

She is pinch-able, FOR SURE! I can't believe we were on the same bus! I sent you another PM!

I love that one too! I think my fav is "After this, I shall think nothing of falling down the stairs." It is very profound!

I cannot say enough about the wonderfulness that is 'Ohana!!!

The blown up pic to 20x30 poster size came out FANTASTIC! and yes, if I could sip a Lapu Lapu all through my day, I'd be a MUCH happier person! :lmao:

Thank for making me feel like I'm "part of your world." (Little Mermaid reference)

After 'Ohana last night, we all had a wonderful night's rest (she slept all through the night) and I woke up bright and early DETERMINED to make a "planned" rope drop today!! I got myself and TWO bags ready... huh? not three bags? Nope. What- was I NUTSO thinking that lugging around a ginormous park bag was a good idea? Well, not anymore. I took only the necessities (which let's face it, meant puh-lenty of diapers and wipes and "lol-pops") in the black shoulder bag, the swingpack, and the camera. I had everything ready this time BEFORE I woke mike up. I decided to skip the coffee and take one of our RockStar energy drinks with us instead, and together we woke Cam, got her dressed and out the door ON TIME! :cool1: Now, please don't think there wasn't a fight. :rotfl:

All the way to the bus stop, I was repeating "hurry hurry, we'll never get a spot on the bus..." So when we arrived at the bus stop as the SECOND family there, Mike shouts at the top of his lungs, "God, Stacey! I hope I don't lose you in this crowd of thousands of people!!" Smart%$^$$!!! Here's us, "fighting off the crowd" at 6:55 AM.

Have you noticed that people are always staring at us with that "look?!" :lmao:

So I wanted to make sure Cameran ate a little something to keep her belly happy until our ADR at Tusker House (Safari breakfast with Donald), so I brought out her favorite... MUFFINS! (little Debbie mini muffins) Usually, this is how this goes, she takes a muffin, whole thing goes in her mouth, chew (barely) swallow, repeat. NOT TODAY. She's mad, really mad, about being up early. So she takes the muffin, but all out REFUSES to chew. it just sits there, out of spite. :rotfl2:
DSC_0003-4.JPG

When I looked at her 3 or 4 minutes later and the muffin was still in a holding pattern, I busted out laughing. This was her reaction to me...

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

The wait for the bus was a little longer than I anticipated... it arrived at 7:19am. We had a nice bus ride over to the Grand Floridian to pick up some folks and at 7:41am our bus finally arrived at Animal Kingdom.

Did I make it to my beloved rope drop?? (Mike coined that phrase this trip)
YES WE DID!!! within minutes a truck pulled up with these silly guys

Cam and I were SO happy!!! (ignore the psychotic look on my face!)

DSC_0018-2.JPG

We walked as far to the left as possible and joined hundreds of people on the trek to the Kilimanjaro Safari. So we arrive at the Safari and the wait says 5 MINUTES! for standby. YAY! but... bad move on my part coming... I tell Mike there is NO way we can take the stroller any further and he has to go back and park it somewhere. He says ok but tells me to carry Cam and go on ahead of him. ummm

Ok, let's pause for a moment. Things you need to know about Stacey 101: I'm like the kid that gets lost in a store, looking side to side with tear-filled eyes, whenever I get separated from my party. We call it "lost child syndrome." So this plan he has right now... my insides are like "no no no no no no no" what comes out of my mouth? "Ok."

I walk all through the very fast queue while holding Cam, and we are getting ready to board our vehicle. I can't see mike. He doesn't answer his phone. Did I mention I can't see mike?!?

Ok. Let me ask you if this makes any sense. I get why people hate you when you advance in a line you haven't been sweating in the whole time (which is precisely why Mike stayed so far back), but HELLO CRAZY PEOPLE IN THE SAFARI LINE... I was carrying a child BACKWARDS in line, letting you get that much more ahead! Why am I still getting the dirty looks, snotty comments, and "accidentally elbowed in the back?!":confused3

Still working my way backwards in line- oh look! a stroller parking!! $%$##%$% --and now I find Mike... about 80-90 people behind where I was. By this time, I really am in tears. People can be so mean.

Didn't matter, we were ALL together, and ALL on board the vehicle in less than 5 minutes. :thumbsup2

Here we go! the following are a whole bunch of pictures of animals. I will not label them (because I don't know a few, and I don't want to look stupid) enjoy them!

Stay tuned for Breakfast with Donald in "Lines, tired and stares, oh my!" part TWO

So glad you posted an update. Really enjoying your TR. You are correct, people can be so cruel. I've learned to ignore them.

So glad you made it to rope drop at AK. I think it is one of my favorites. (although I am not entirely sure why). Boo to the people who were rude to you. Good grief... You are carrying a small child. For all they new she was about to be sick and you needed to get her out of the line asap. I NEVER try and judge peoples motivation. You just rarely know what is going on... and in many cases...I have been there or done that. (having 4 kids will do that :rotfl:)

Can't wait to hear how Tusker went for you. We have an early (before rope drop) ADR on our last day.... have never been there for the breakfast, so I would like to know that it will be worth it.

so enjoyed your pretrip I am looking forward to having the time to read your post trip. We were there the same time as you and school started the day after we go home. As soon as things settle a little bit I am gonna read all about your trip. :surfweb:Have a great day.

Noelle

okay, I'm in.:goodvibes

I usually don't read TR's. This morning the "I've been gone from Disney too long" blues got the best of me so I sat down with a cup of coffee and thru my sadness decided to peruse the TR's. Stumbled upon yours. It's working for me.

Sort of.

2 hours later, I'm happy as a pig in slop and sad as a mule eating briars at the same time.

You have such a great way of telling a story-
enjoying it so very much. It's making my Disney blues seem a little less, but more at the same time. :confused3 Only Disney would have you in such a state of confusion.:lmao:

I want to stay at WL as well- it is so beautiful and I've always enjoyed visiting there when we go.
Our last stay was at the Poly.... (your 'Ohana update was fantastic:thumbsup2 Love it there--) but next time it will definitely be somewhere else.

Your Baby wins cutest baby on the DIS award. :goodvibes ahhh, those baby days- I miss them very much. They absolutely go too fast. The picture of her pointing to the castle is absolutely priceless.

Can't wait to read more....popcorn::

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

OMG I busted out laughing just now at work when I read this and saw those pics! Now people are giving me "that look!" :lmao: This is my favorite part of your trip so far! I can not stop laughing!!!!! :rotfl:

Great pics from the safari! :thumbsup2

WOW thats awesome that you got to see a lion! Best I got to see was some hair peeking over the rock. My boys thought I was nuts when I told them "theres a lion" :rotfl: Seriously that pic of Cam pulling down the visor is great :lmao:

LOVE the TR! Cam is such a cutiepie! I miss having a little one!
The "waking her demoness" Comment made me laugh out loud!
I actually LOVE Ohanas too, we couldnt get ADRS there last yr so I cant wait for ours next month! Cant wait to read more!

The safari was great, I'd say we all enjoyed it very much, and were glad we went on it first thing in the morning. Now, as we are leaving the safari area, (somehow I got it in my head that Mike wanted to ride Everest...) I insisted we head toward EE to get a fastpass for Mike to use after breakfast. Along the way, we stopped for a PP photo at the tree.
Photo0074.jpg

then we zoomed over to Expedition Everest... and Mike stops dead in his tracks. :confused3 He said... "you're going to ride that?!" I said "no hun- you are." He said "I don't think so- I don't like roster coasters!"

ummmmm....????? :rotfl:

Ok, I now truly believe what they mean my "the seven-year itch" is when after seven years of being together, your significant other says something so contrary to what you have known to be truth... that you cannot stop scratching ti ITCH on your head! :confused3
 ok, let's do Kali River Rapids FP then- we're right here. DEAL.

We grab FPs for Kali (return time 10am) and head back for our ADR at Tusker breakfast. We checked in and had a few minutes before they could take us, so Cam will entertain you all while we wait.
DSC_0064-1.JPG

we skipped photo with Donald (I know, the shame right? NO not really- I'm not paying $30 for a pic I know I won't be able to say no to! Have you seen my kid?!:lovestruc) we were seated and I was off to the buffet. This is what I came back with
DSC_0065-2.JPG

I came back JUST in time to catch this!
DSC_0066-5.JPG

and this!
DSC_0067-1.JPG

Then we had quite a long time to eat. Cam would only eat cheese and bacon (like 8 pieces ) until (thanks A LOT) they gave her THIS because they thought it was her birthday for some reason...
DSC_0070-1.JPG

So i couldn't possibly name all the stuff I tried and ate, but I'll tell you I completely fell in love with the "corn bread hash" and the mealy pap! So I got up to go get more... and totally missed this experience!

well... at least I got this one!
