Monday at AK, I decided to go ahead a join the wacky group know as Pin Traders. Now, I have never bought a pin, but have been given so many that I had to buy a lanyard this trip to put them all on. I had several of the same pin from the Wonder cruise I just got off of the day before, so I take an extra and hope to make a trade before we leave the park and head for home. The first CM I go up to (I wish I could remember his name!)
is very kind and tells me the rules for trading. After not finding anything I like, DD and I need to leave to catch our flight back home. As we were walking up to the entrance, I noticed a CM who had lots of pins on.
He was talking to a couple so I just stood there looking at his laynard. He noticed me and said if I wanted to make a trade I had to hurry as he was leaving with the couple. It was then I noticed he had a DVC tag on the end of his lanyard. DD saw that he had a WL pin and pointed it out to me. I said, OH I want to trade for that one, WL is my home resort. He says You're a member? And I tell him, with the couple standing there listening, that DH and I bought in and loved it so much that we ended up buying more points last year. That it was one of the best things we had ever done ( it is). And that we had just gotten back from the Disney Wonder cruise where all our table mates were cruising on points. ( And it was not the DVC member cruise!) He smiled and looked at the couple and said... I swear this was not
staged... ! I told the couple that I really was pleased with DVC. And I walked away with a WL pin:D How cool is that for my first trade!
I hope he made a sale that day:D
He was a nice guy... he could have just told he he didn't have time. But instead I left with a great memory and pin!

So did he GIVE you the pin, or did you have to make a trade for it?:p :p :p

I can totally relate.....we just bought last year and when we had our first visit home in January at VWL, every time I walked past a DVC desk with someone talking to the guides I wanted to stop and say "Just do it! You won't regret it!" But I had to control myself!

I wish I had thought of the pin angle!;)

:D
oh I made an honest trade:D
But you know, a couple of times I have said "Do it" to people as I walked by those desks!;)

What a cool story. It would've helped me decide if I was on the fence :)

I HAVE MANY TIMES STOPED BY THE DVC OFFICE AT THE BOARDWALK AND ASKED FOR A PIN OR ANYTHING ELSE THEY HAD .HEY THE COTTEN CANDY IS FREE!
