:sad2: I'm so bummed. Last night I took my 3 yr old to some local fireworks and she freaked! I have the Fantasmic dinner pkg booked and I fear she will freak there too. I don't want to spend all that $ for dinner just to walk out of the show. What do you guys think?

Also I plan to get her some ear muffs for when people shoot guns. We are calling them magic ears. I know music headphones will not work. They do the fireworks every Friday so I think I will take her back and see how she does with them on. I will NOT miss Wishes too. This is my first trip and I want to see something.

Yes, try "Magic Ears" next week before cancelling. My DS10 hates fireworks to this day. I have yet to see one fireworks display at Disney, but I would be more miserable and feel bad, if I made him sit through it.

I have to buy better ear plugs this year. There are many rides he doesn't like , he says they are too loud. If they work well for him during the rides, he'll give fireworks a shot. Last trip ear plugs didn't do anything for him.

Are you getting the magic ears too?

I think if we see Wishes with them she may be fine if Daddy holds her. Last night she freaked at first and then calmed down with her hands over her ears talking to him. Fantacmic may be to much though.

I haven't decided what to get yet, but I have to do something, if I want him to enjoy more, and let me enjoy some fireworks.

I am usually the bad mom in the group, but how upset did she get? When DS was 3 he would cover his ears and say "too loud", but with his dad being a pyromaniac I figured he better get used to it.

If you think she will cry I suppose that would be too much. I don't know about other cities, but in Kansas City the Royals baseball team does fireworks after each home run and after some games. Obviously we have not heard many in the past few years, with their poor record, but I was thinking maybe if you give her more opportunities to get used to it, she may be fine during the show.

Another thought might be that you could see how Wishes goes first? My DS is slow to warm up, but after a day of fun, he learns to trust that whatever happens next will be a fun thing, and usually covers his ears and is fine at Wishes.

Well she did cry but she stopped after a while. She still hated it. We live in Tx and everything is big hear even the fireworks. Last for at least3 or 4 songs with a big ending. I think I will take her back next Fri with the magic ears and see how that works.

On our trip we are doing MK on a Mon and MGM on a WEd. There would be no time to cancel the dinner and not get charged a fee if I waited to see Wishes. I will have to judge from home.

We go July 15th-22nd

You should be able to judge in plenty of time then. Good luck. I hope they work, let me know too please. We don't go until Sept. I really want him to enjoy more shows, rides, fireworks that are loud, but I can't see making him do it for me. He does do most rides for the family, but it breaks my heart to see him cover his ears and not really enjoy it.

I have 3 kids - all 3 went to Fantasmic! at the age of 3.

DD - loved it

DS#1 - didn't like it but made it through okay - when I offered to wait outside with him he opted to stay - with his eyes closed.

DS#2 - hated it. I ended up standing in the back of the pavillion holding him, scrouched down so he didn't see anything. The snake sent him over the edge.

None of the kids minded the fireworks show at MK. DS#1 & DS#2 didn't like Illuminations but DD loved it.

The villians segment and the dragon segment are a bit intense. It may be better for you to be sitting near the back.
