So we have our trip booked for March 29th until April 8th (yes 10 days...8 at Disneyland :) ) anyways, I'm trying to squeeze in Day number 11. I think I must be nuts. I've read on here that most people don't stay that long...but I think I'm addicted :lmao: . And to top it all off I'm trying to plan a trip for September as well. For us it's a 26 hour drive each way, and you know what? We are looking forward to it! That's just crazy..if anyone had told me I would EVER look forward to a 26 hour drive I would say they were nuts, but here I am joyfully planning trip # 2 before I've even completed trip #1. So I think I have a problem...I'm addicted to Disneyland! :rotfl2:

Join the club. :thumbsup2

We are headed to the parks in about a month...this will be our third trip since August.

Just a few minutes ago DH and I were talking about our NEXT trip in August! lol. We haven't even taken this trip yet!

Of course, we aren't as far away as you are, only 2+ hours on a plane, but still we are addicted too.

11 days is a long time but you'll be going during a busy "Spring Break" time, so the extra days will help you see & do everything. Just plan in breaks & you'll be just fine.
Disneyland is a very addicting place, but in a good way. You feel different when you're there & the outside world seems to disappear. Who doesn't love to escape life once in a while?
Enjoy your trip & have fun planning the next one!!
PS: We drive also & its about a 14 hr trip for us, so I kinda understand what you'll be going thru.....lol But 26 hrs is definately a lot. Do you stop for the night or drive straight thru???

None of us would be here if we didn't feel ya.

I remember I booked a 6 day 5 night trip before finding DIS, and then when I saw how long people were staying, I immediately had the impulse to add more days. Sadly, our airfare was nonrefundable.

We stop for the night. I think hubby would drive straight though if I would let him...he's like a big kid on the way there!

This year I think we will leave on a Thursday night (after work) stay at my parents place 3 hours away and then leave early the next morning. We will try to make it 14 hours on the road. Stay at a hotel and then be in Disney late Saturday (instead of Sunday). WOOHOO an extra day! :cheer2:

Welcome to the addiction club :rotfl2: , I think 75% of this board is addicted.

Your post sure made me feel better though. We will be staying for 8 nights. I seem to always be reading post from people asking if they should go for 3 or 4 days. I figure, the more the better. If DH would have let me stay for 10 nights, you had better bet I would have.

Oh and yes, I am also already planning our next trip (at least in my head anyhow, have not figured out dates)

I'm also plotting away to but AP's on this trip...poor DH he won't know what hit him :rotfl2:

11 days.....so jealous! We do make several short trips during the year, but 11 days in "paradise" would be wonderful.

Have a great trip!

And here I am cramming it all into two days. One day at DLR, one day at DCA.

I am taking my first ever trip to Disneyland March 16 - 20 will be in the parks 3 days with the first and last days being travel days. I can't wait. I have been going to Disney World since I was a little girl and have been over 30 times. I grew up in SC and live in TX now. I have been to WDW the last three Decembers and the last 2 Augusts. I went on the Disney Wonder for the first time this past Dec. I have been an AP holder for Disney World for the past 2 years. I work full time as a teacher and part time at my local Disney Store. My Disney Store salary goes straight into my vaca fund by direct deposit.
Yep - I'm a Disney Addict.

If my BF would let me go that long I would, but hes not into disney as much as me and three days wheres him out. Its only a 5 hour drive for us :drive:

hi nottellin'...where are you from...i am on vancouver island...i cannot talk my husband into driving, he will only fly and i hate flying :scared: but to get to my happy place i gotta do it....we did disneyland in 06, 07, and are going this may...all have been 10 day trips....i wouldnt go for less....we did 5 day passes the first two and am thinking of getting 6 days for this one...have a great trip, you are going before us...:cheer2:

We have done a long stay like that at DLR and we loved it! It was the best ever vacation. Instead of driving around visiting all of our family, they came and visited us at the resort. We stayed 9 days and I don't think it was too long.:rotfl:

The kids were joking that disney was their job. They would get up early, eat and go off to disney, then come back to the hotel, shower, sleep and repeat. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: If only they would wake up that easily to go to school everyday.

We went during a busy time, so it made it much more relaxing because we were not hurried. Of course, that was enough disney for a lifetime for my DH. He spent much of his days golfing. The kids and I really didn't want to spend any of our time golfing, so he had to go alone. :upsidedow Somehow, I think he didn't mind all that much and he survived.

Have fun! I think you will have a blast! You can find so much to do.

So if it's my first time at DLR/DCA am I able to get everything in in one full day per park?

My family and I always stay 2 weeks. We just can't get enough! lol

...where are you from...i am on vancouver island
We are from Edmonton...BUT my hubby was born and raised on Vancouver Island..he moved to Alberta for work. Which part of the Island are you from?

P.S We hate flying too...that's why we drive :scared:

hi nottellin'...small world isnt it...we are in port alberni...where was your husband from? Flying sucks, i stress out everytime...last trip i lost 10 pounds before we flew...i am pretty small, so losing weight for me isnt really that great :rotfl: ...i can already feel myself starting to stress about our upcoming may flight...

We never have.

You can get a nice taste of things, but you're not going to do everything, not by a long shot.

OK that's not really true. A different fan site has a game "rally" where teams try to do everything at BOTH parks in ONE day, with an awards ceremony at the end of the day...but the people participating have been there many many times.

But I wouldn't do that for a first-time visit; if you can, I'd add some time.
