So, spoke to hubby about taking the kids somewhere this spring, I was originally thinking SW/Busch, he was fine with that, then of course my mind started wandering and wondering to and about Disney. Got my handy dandy spreadsheet up and started plugging the numbers. Well..... here's my defense... it's only going to be a couple hundred more to go to Disney, and the kids will enjoy it more. Think it will work? LOL

I know it's going to be massively busy, 3/22-3/25, and we'll only do 2 parks MK & AK, but I think it will be worth it! Don't you? :)

When is Easter? I know it falls in March this year, and that is usually horridly busy. If you can wait a few weeks and go after that and it should be better, and you may get a better price as well. Disney is fun anytime ,but honestly if you have to wait 3 hours for a ride it really makes it harder to enjoy. I try to avoid really busy times if possible. Are you looking at staying onsite? If so then you can use the extra magical hours which I found wonderful at night. Much easier to get on rides then.

Good Friday is 3/21, we'd drive down on saturday, MK has EMEH on Sunday, so I'm thinking we'll hit there Sunday and do AK on Monday, we'll probably stay at POR.

Unfortunately that's the only time I can head down to Florida the middle school where my son is, is intense with their attendance policy, to the point of bordering on insanity, for example I have to pull him out early next Friday for a camp that he attends every year, he's only going to miss 90 minutes of school, and they're giving me a hard time!

Honestly, neither myself or my 2 little ones are ride freaks, we just love the characters and atmosphere, dh and ds can go off and wait in ride lines, lol. Also, this is just a 'filler trip' until 2009, there's NO way I can wait fifteen months! LOL

Honestly if it were me, I wouldn't go over Easter weekend. It is insanely busy there. I have gone at busy times in the summer before and I heard that Easter time is even worse! I wouldn't enjoy it. But I think you will have that problem about anywhere, so it just depends how you handle crowds.
I would make a post and ask people there thoughts of Disney over Easter weekend.

don't feel bad I plan to go in March 2009. We want to go from march 17- March 31. Well That is cause my Birthday is the 20th. So I guess when we go in 09 it will be easter time. Yay

Do it , the kids will be happier.

We are going March 13-March 22...flying home the day before Easter. Not thrilled by the idea that it will be packed but that is spring break here in Dallas/Fort Worth. We kicked around the idea of flying home late on the 23rd to be there for Easter. A very nice person at CRO told us we should avoid MK at all cost on this day...they generally have to close the park by noon. He said it is wall to wall people on Easter and not really enjoyable. We decided to go ahead and come home Saturday evening.

Must do!!! Go with disney and like you said the "kids" will have a much better time! (you know you will too!!!):rotfl:
You can post and plan for a wonderful trip, this way you can avoid those really busy days!

always end in folly, isnt that how it goes?

DH came home last week with the news that he's more than likely going on a new career venture, so that has put any family trip on hold. However,(there's always a however with me! lol) I realized the kids have 3 days off in January, soooooooooo.. depending on how the new venture goes financially, I'm thinking my girl friend and I will head south w/the kids in January, they're off mon-wed, so that gives us the Sat through Wed

Is that Martin Luthr King day weekend? Thats really busy too, jsut so you know. Prices go up for that time frame as well.

ughhh... I just checked, yes it is. But it's got to be less busy than Easter, right? Those are my choices, unless I go in summer, which won't happen, I left the FL heat for a reason, LOL! I don't want to push it too far into the year, as we have a big trip planned for early 2009

Not to mention all the SPRING BREAKERS on top of EASTER WEEKEND! On a scale of 1-10...10 being the most crowded...I am sure it will be a 9-10 as far as crowds.
I was there this Spring Break. We left the weekend before Easter weekend. By the end of our trip we were miserable because of the crowds. I would not say I would NEVER try it again...but I would not try it with young children or with a husband who hates to have LONG waits (even with fast passes).
