We have ADR for LeCellier at 4:30 on arrival day. We'll be celebrating DD's
21st birthday. This is our first time taking ME and it just dawned on me, what if our room isn't ready? Will we have access to our luggage? And are there showers at the quiet pool? Staying at BCV.

I've never used ME but what I have read it could take some time to get your luggage. Otherwise you would have access to your luggage at bell services. Keep your fingers crossed.........but you may want to pack something in a carry on bag that you can keep with you. Change then give the bags to bell services to hold for you. As far as showers go, not sure I never stayed at BCV before, next time I will. Good Luck and have a great trip.....

I've not stayed at BCV either, but I'm assuming they have some sort of workout gym like the other resorts? If so, that provides access to a changing and shower area.

And you can use the shower connected to the fitness areas at any DVC resort if, for some reason, they don't.

Thanks for your help. Previous trips we would just wing it with ADRs but that spontaniety is gone.

You could also pack a checked bag and just not tag it with the DME tags. You can then pick it up at regular baggage check. It'll mean that it takes a bit longer to get to your hotel (because you have to go through baggage claim, eliminating one of the time savers that DME offers), but it might be worth it if you're nervous or if your timeline is tight.

Typically, it's taken between 1 and 2 hours from the time we get our room (meaning, the room is ready for us to occupy it, not when I check in) for our luggage to show up. Sometimes it's been quicker, but not by much.

The other thing to remember is that, even if you've had a long hot day including a sweaty airline flight and ride to WDW on ME, you'll be competing in the looks department with a lot of guests (like us!!) who are in the parks already and have on shorts. Plenty of people eat in all the WDW restaurants looking like hot, sweaty tourists. I know that's not the look to aim for, but if you can't freshen up and change into nicer clothes, you won't be the only ones dressed down a little!!!

DVCLiz - I hear you! My DS and I will be fine, it's DD whose birthday we are celebrating that likes to primp!! I just called and tried to change it - nothing else was available for the whole time we're there. So she'll just have to deal with it.

Just a thought - why not make her a reservation for a manicure or pedicure at SSR spa for the early afternoon? That way she can use the super-nice spa facilities and to shower, primp, and change.
