I am trying fast to learn about the grand floridian because my husband surprised me with a trip for 2 months from now.
I am worried though because he said we have a regular room and the other thread says that only 5 people fit in a regular room. We have 6.

I am worried that he told them our youngest is 2 even though it was just her birthday. It is to late to change it now. She looks 2, she is really small. Do they check on this or am I ok with a very little 3 year old?

I wouldn't even know how to make her her real age without big problems.

Hey you should be fine. I've never had them ask for the ages of my children. I wouldn't worry about it.

Yeah given the fact she is a small, newly turned three I can't imagine it being an issue. If by some miracle they ask and she tells them she's three, just say "oh honey your birthday isn't until next month" and just roll your eyes about how excited she is to turn 3! It was an honest mistake, its not like you are trying to smuggle in an extra teenager or something.

But they won't even ask.

6 people in a basic hotel room (2 beds and a bathroom) can be kinda tight- I hope the kids are little so it isn't so crowded.

Room isn't a problem, she still sleeps in our bed half the time anyway. And I found out the room has 2 queen beds and a day bed. The 7yo and 12 yo can share a queen, the 13 yo can have his own bed and she can sleep with us or on her little toddler air bed (grammy gave her one for her b-day...I think grammy knew about the trip!)
We take weekend trips and crowd into smaller rooms.
It's just the age lying that worries me. Thanks for not beating me up about it, i already feel bad, you guys are great!

1. The 5 to a room is the Fire Marshall's rule, not so much Disney's, so they may call you on it.

2. If you are using a DDP or a package deal of some kind, you may run into problems since DDP and park tickets are sometimes linked to the number of people in your room. This is the part I am unsure of, but I know someone with more Dis-experience will come by and clarify if I have this wrong.

You might want to call CRO and pretend you're not already booked (ask for a room quote or something) and ask about this situation. This will allow you to ask your question without being flagged in any way. Or have a friend do it for you.

I agree, you should be fine. I was even told once by CRO when I asked if a friend's daughter could spend one night with us at OKW that "Disney doesn't count heads". The only problem could be if you're on a package that includes the DDP as she wouldn't have been charged for DDP at age 2 and thus wouldn't have dining credits. If it's a room only ressie though then it really isn't a problem. What a great surprise! Your hubby is definitely a "keeper", lol. ---Kathy

Um.. another question. It isn't the room I worry about but rather the tickets. I'm not sure how he did it, but 3yo are supposed to buy tickets and pay for meals. We went the month before my middle child turned 3 precisely because we didn't want to pay for him.

You can always purchase a separate ticket for your 3 y.o. once you arrive at the resort or even in advance. I have a feeling this situation happens often, either by the guest giving the age at time of booking or the CM putting in the age at time of booking rather than the dob. I have always been a "moral Mary" and never could live with myself if I knowingly was aware of an error even though this certainly was an honest mistake. You can always call CRO, explain the issue, and see what can be done. It's not worth worrying your entire trip about "what might happen" if you are the same type person as I am. It's really up to you.---Kathy

I just wanted to say that you'll be fine with the size of the room with the 6 of you. The GF standard rooms are big, have 2 beds and a daybed.

The only problem you might have is like others have said, if your DH booked a package. I really wouldn't stress too much about it.

You can have six people in a GF room as long as one of them is under three. The OP's youngest just turned 3. So she is just barely over the limit as far as age on that sixth person.

OP: If this really bothers you, you can always check into availablity at a Ft. Wildnerness Cabin or an All Star Music Family Suite.

Personally, I would stick with the GF and not worry about it. And I am not one of the mug reusing, pool hopping, making multiple ADR'ers, I just think in this case, its not a big deal!

FYI - I booked a standard room at GF and ended up getting a dormer room. While it was a beautiful, it had two queens, no daybed and certainly not enough room for 6 people.
