Its great that you feel that way but as you can see there are many who dont feel that way

The people who signed the petition are a mere fraction of the amount of sellers on ebay, so while many feel that way, many others realize the cost of business goes up all the time. It was great when ebay had few fees, and paypal had none. But not a smart way to run a business. eBay offers so much more now than they did way back when they and I started. Paypal used to actually lose money (and you don't have to use Paypal, but I'd bet most feel they sell more using Paypal..so we'll have to pay for the priviledge..and while I'm grandfathered in right now at my lower rate, that too will shortly be going up). I always feel I have to spend money to make it, and as long as I make it, I'll spend it. You feel differently, and while you can find places like Yahoo or Overstock that are very cheap, in the long run, you may not make the amount of profit you would on eBay, with their many buyers. But if the new fees really make that much difference in your bottom line, then for you, the selling on eBay sounds like it's over. It's something you have to decide for yourself. I know my competitors would love to see me get discouraged and move on, but I don't intend to. The difference for me is slight, and I use gallery, 10 day auctions and buy it now. I raised my shipping/handling .50 to cover this.
I'm sorry it has hit your profits so much, and I h0pe you can find another venue to take eBay's place.
As far as raising the price with no justification, I have no idea if their workers have gotten raises, if their overhead has gone up, if they have to pay more now for webspace...I just have no way of knowing if it's justified or not. I'm sure some of my buyers might wonder if my new shipping/handling price is justified. I believe it is, but who knows, I may lose some sales, just like ebay may lose some sellers.
