O.k., so after our back to back WDW stays (Sept 2010, 2011) we were certain that we were going to vacation somewhere else the next year! I mean, certain! I had priced out other vacations, seriously researched other places… Well the following March rolls around and I get this CRAZY, CRAZY :scared: urge to go back to WDW. What the heck? :confused3 Sure enough, we end up going back for our third year in a row that Sept. (We had an incredible vacation that year, and we’re so glad we decided to go back). :thumbsup2

So now fast forward to Sept last year (after 4 years in a row), we are CERTAIN that we’re not going back in 2014. So much so that I have a family cruise booked late in the year instead, airfare is paid, etc... It’s a done deal. (Non Disney cruise, RCI to the Caribbean) :grouphug:

BUT……………………… I’m getting this crazy urge to go back!!!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhh! WTH? :crazy2::scared: I’m checking airline and WDW prices for late Aug, daydreaming about going back. Thinking, can I make this happen?:scratchin:

Why is the urge so high? It’s like I’m on some time released Disney drug that *WHAM*! gives me the need to go back!!!

Anyone else have my symptoms! What’s the diagnosis? What’s the cure! :confused3 :sad2: :confused3:rotfl:

Shhhh! They'll find out that you're on to them and who knows what they'll do to you! Up your dose until you're doing Disney Land & Sea 2x per year :smokin:

I think you must be right. . . It's the only possible explanation. . . Cure, cure, it may be easier to cure cancer than to tackle this one! There are no negative side effects (other than to your wallet!) and the high is so great!

You'll just have to come here for support and learn how to live WITH your addiction rather than removing it - you're in too deep!:confused3:thumbsup2

I so agree with this theory. We have a 13 yr old DS and always had the fear he would look at me crazy:rolleyes2 but he made me so proud when last week he said he was sitting in class and thought to himself "wow can't wait to go to WDW" Next trip is June 20-28. He never talks about it until we get to this time of year.:goodvibes

You are soooo right! We have been going every 1-1 1/2 years, mixing other vacations in as well. I thought for sure we would go somewhere else this summer and researched a lot of other places but I just booked Disney for August! :) I need my Disney fix!!!

You will have a great time on your RCI cruise, my girls love cruising and liked RCI better than the Disney cruise!!

We just got back a couple of weeks ago and DD7 who is in 1st grade just explained to me that they start checking attendance more strictly in school starting in the 3rd grade.......so we should "probably" go back again next
year.....while we still can. :rotfl2:

FWIW....I'm in complete agreement. :thumbsup2

ROFL. When free dining came out, I immediately tried to justify an October weekend trip to WDW. When the dates did not work out (boo!), I looked at a trip starting Dec 20. Thankfully, it was priced out of my comfort zone or guess where we would be for Christmas? LOL!

Right now though, I might be able to get a super deal to Universal for October. If I do, we'll go there and then spend a day in WDW. (we have non-expiring park hoppers). I had to fit in my WDW somehow.

I'm doing my best to resist a WDW trip. I have a Disneyland trip planned next March and trying to force ourselves to be satisfied with that until 2016 when I will break down and plan a proper trip to WDW. We did a Disney cruise last year along with a park day so our last "proper" trip was 2012. The Mouse keeps begging me to come back :rotfl2:

Our first trip was Sept 2010. We took 2011 off but have been back September 2012, September 2013 and DH and I are booked again for September 2014.

Our 2012 and 2013 trips involved going with different family members who had never been before so it was fun to see the world for the first time again through their eyes. They are all now committed to going again, they also loved it so much!

Every single time we've gone, our first park day has always been Epcot and our first ride has always been Soarin'. It brings to me some sort of nostalgic feeling that makes Epcot my favorite park. Also, every single time we visit Epcot, the weather had always been flawless and I just love all the beautiful sights and landscaping, the piped in music (Soarin' music at the entrance), the wildlife (ex. ducks, rabbits), delicious smells...so much to love there!

It just never gets old because every single trip is different. We stay at a different resort, try different restaurants and snacks, find a ride we've never been on, or a parade we hadn't yet seen. We still haven't been to either of the waterparks or Disney Quest, or any of the mini golf courses, etc. Still so much to do...

I do the same thing. I think I'm finally off that drug though.
For me, its the ease in knowing how to book and plan a WDW vacation. I know my family will have a good time, it doens't take much work to book a room and tickets and we know what to expect. We've been going each year since 1999.

It's much harder to work at planning for an unknown vacation. It takes time to figure out if a hotel or resort will fit your needs and budget, it takes longer to figure out what things to do and how to book them at that locale. It's more work. BUT....we did our first big non-Disney family trip in a long time this year and it was wonderful to explore new places together. I'm busy thinking about next spring and what we'll do. I'm actually more excited to think about new destinations than ever.

Good luck OP. :)

It's funny because DH and I have joked about this for years! We go through Disney withdrawls!

We first went in Sept 2006 and fell in love but said we would wait until we have a kid to go back. We were planning our wedding which was going to take place in 2008 and planned to go to Europe on our honeymoon (I had always wanted to go to Paris). One day I was sitting at work and thinking I kind of want to go back to Disney instead....So I call DH on my break and mentioned it to him and he loved the idea and said he would enjoy that much more! So June 2008 we went back.

Then early 2009 I received in the mail a code for 35% off (at the time I didn't realize this was common) so it got me wanting to go back and I started convincing DH and we couldn't not go since we were getting a "deal" lol! So we went in Nov 2009 (again last trip before a kid...sure sure). Well on that trip I started realizing I could not wait and was already starting to try to convince DH to go back again the following year! I worked out a budget in my head and said well we only need to put away this much each pay and we could go! I am sure he was thinking what have I done.. lol

Then in 2010 we both got our current jobs which was a big pay increase (double what we were making). We already did have a trip booked to Vegas for Sept that year cause we swore we would go somewhere else and it was pretty cheap but we decided if we get the job we would also go to Disney in Oct! And well we both got the job and went in 2010. And once we got the job we decided Disney was going to be an annual trip along with a trip somewhere else.

So of course we went back in oct 2011 and decided we now need to buy DVC because it will save us a lot of money (which it has). Although it was the start of trouble.... Because now I want to go as much as I can! And have figured out it also is cheaper to get an AP then go back within a year...But the year I have an AP I end up convincing him to take a 3rd trip in the middle!! It's an addiction lol!!!

So they have to have something in the air!! We have managed to take a few trips elsewhere over the pas few years. We did get to London and Paris in 2012, NYC a few times as we live fairly close, Cuba, Vegas/Cali and won a trip through work to Atlantis in the Bahamas. But Disney is still my main love!!

After 2011 we went twice in 2012 and 3 times in 2013. This year we are "only" going twice. But next year we decided we will only go once except for a long trip and I won't go back again until Nov 2016 (if I somehow manage!).

Our fist trip was in 1999, just DH and I. We said we would go every other year or so but... we have gone every year since then! We are now heading down in June for our 15th yearly trip. DD11 has said that she doesn't care if we vacation anywhere else the rest of her life...but we have thrown in a few Disney cruises here and there and we also go camping a lot.

But it is definitely an addiction and one that is very, very hard to break!

I'm in the same boat. My husband and I took our first trip together in 2012, and said we'd wait another 4 years before another trip. We've got reservations for September 2014.

In 2013 we went to Hawaii and now figure we'll be happy if we do a trip somewhere new every other year. Not stopping in DL on the way to Hawaii was really tough though!

We just got back from Disney in March and we are going back in September. We are addicted. They must have slipped us the time released pill also but in a higher dose because we didn't even make it to the year mark.

I started planning our next vacation about a month after we got back.

Thank goodness it isn't just me. We just got back on Saturday but I am ready to go back. I was talking about when we could plan a trip back on our third day there! My husband rolled his eyes but I think we will be going back in 2-3 years, earlier if I get my way!!!:cool1:
