I think 12/17 is jinxed

Noticed some people posting yesterday about how their POTC fastpasses were cancelled for 12/17 and when I checked today it looks like it will be under refurbishment, for just that day! That makes HM and POTC down on the only day we are going to be there It also looks like the only two characters I really wanted to meet (Aladdin and Jasmine) aren't going to be there that day either. Anyone know why? It looks like they are only there on party days...
My other question is how bad is the line for ETWB right in the mornings? Since we now have to do some schedule re-arranging, we were thinking about heading there first thing in the morning at 8am rope drop.
Anyone else going to be there on 12/17? While I am bummed about the unlucky day, I 'm just excited I'm able to go back at all

I'll be in MK that day too. Where did you read the POTC was closed for refurbishment for that day?

On the Disney World website when I viewed the MK attractions for 12/17 it was down at the bottom with HM stating it was closed and no times available for that day
