I survived Black Friday shopping....anyone else?

I got seasons 1 - 4 of the Office for $50, and got a nice fake tree for $20. I didn't get any Christmas shopping done though, but I know exactly what I'm getting for everyone.

Dh & I decided to drive to the Premium outlets in PA today. Now we don't have any small kids to buy for so black friday is not a big boohaha to us. Definitely didn't get up at 5:00 am for any special sale. :lmao:

Anyway,
I thought it was a waste. The prices were not that great IMO. Sure they had 50% off sale but it was 50% off of the manufacturers suggested price (which I would never pay in a million years).
For example I went to the Eddie bauer outlet. They had some nice long sleeve waffle shirts for men, half off at 20.00 bucks. I've seen that on the eddie bauer web site.
On and On. They did have some gorgeous Kate spade bags for $200 bucks but I wasn't looking for a gift for me. ;)

All in all, I was less than impressed with the prices.

Did you check their site for extra % off coupons? They have 51 printable coupons on their site right now! I love going to Tannersville! but I'd never be brave enough to do it for Black Friday! I did the reading outlets the first year of their midnight madness and did great with clothes!

https://www.premiumoutlets.com/vip/index.asp there is the link to the vip club :thumbsup2
also after you join the club (free) there is always a printable coupon for their coupon book at the welcome station in the food court.

I survived, but Im not sure about my feet. Frozen toes and achy heals do not feel nice outside for 7 hours in 35 degree rain.

I went to Walmart at 10:00 with hubby. We were #17 and 18 in line. We got a $198 and $298 laptop and $389 desktop. (Also got crayola magic paint something, $3 Disney PJs and a couple more toys.) Took almost an hour to check out.

Went to BJs Wholesale for the XBOX Pro bundle at $249.

Target, got the Miley Cyrus movie, Barbie scooter, toss across and Dont Break the Ice.

Kohls, I got 2 mens sweaters at 70% off, Fisher Price Toy's at 50% off

Bobs Stores - Nike Basketball $11

Toys R Us - Hanna Montana Plug and Play guitar $26

Bed Bath Beyond, Baking/Cookie Sheets $9.99, pre lit little Chrstmas tree walkway lights $6.99, A bed tray thing for your laptop $29.99

Macys - 3 pc luggage set, $34.99

JCPenney - clothes for boys (jeans, long sleeved shirts etc..) varied low prices!

Sears Outlet - twin mattresses $110 ea.

Ocean State Job Lot - wreath hangers $1 each and cordless candles 99 cents ea.

Home Depot - 10 pointsettias 99 cents each

Home - Hot shower, a bagel and some sleep - PRICELESS!

We survived here! We left around 10 this morning, and headed to JoAnn Fabrics. I got fleece to make a tie blanket. (They had it on sale for $2.99 a yard) We waited in line for almost an hour there. Our JoAnn Fabrics is small, so they only have two registers and the line was moving very slow. After there, we headed to the mall to hit up JCPenney and K-Mart. We breezed right in and out of both of those places, with hardly any wait at all.

Then we had some lunch and headed to US Cellular to take advantage of the free phones. We waited there for 3 hours in line. It was insane how many people were there getting new phones. We would have come back a different day, but one of my best friend works there and he was only working today for the sale and we wanted him to get credit for our purchases since he helped us decide which phones to get a few weeks ago. Our total time spent there was 4 hours because at one point today the entire US Cellular customer service and towers crashed so it took us forever to get the phones activated. So that was an adventure to say the least!

We're home now and I'm kicking up my feet with a nice bowl of Pumpkin ice cream! :thumbsup2

I never go out on Black Friday but I had to work from 2-6. The store I work at was pretty crazy when I first got there but then it sort of slowed down...still steady though. When I left we already had our day's plan in...in fact we were well over it. I'm amazed at how much people buy at that store.:eek::eek:

Yes, I actually went to the mall, and to target. (theyre pretty much across the street from each other).

target was gangbusters and the mall wasn't too bad, except for jcpenneys. Old navy closed there. :(

Got some cheap dvds!

My DS and I went to Old Navy and snagged a bracelet for the Lego Rock band video game for Wii that they had for free with a $20 purchase. That was all he wanted to do and we actually had fun doing it!

My DH went out about 7 and snagged a few good deals- a digital picture frame that I wanted to get for my parents and a great deal on a digital camera for my DS, and a few cheap DVDs.
We went out this afternoon to the mall for some yankee Candle and Build-A-Bear shopping, Hobby Lobby for ornaments, Wal-Mart and a few other places and it was not too bad at all. Then we went to the movies and saw Disney's A Christmas Carol.
It was a good day!:)

Yup Yup! Slept in until 10......went to Petsmart at 1 for a new Betta tank- skipped across the parking lot and got me a Zhu Zhu hamster and it's ball at Toy R Us at 2 [the released 65 at 2:00] and I was home by 2:30:)

P.S. If you're getting a Zhu Zhu pet- DONT buy the ball---silly hamster doesn't stay upright even with the stabilizer on the belly....keeps falling over and not righting itself- will be returning tomorrow:lmao:

It was a tiring day! Went out with my mom...Got up at 3:30am to be in line at Target by 4. There were already about 75 people in line. But got in, got what I wanted and got out. The lines looked bad, but everyone kept filing into the same lines. We got into one that had only one person. Really lucky there! Then headed to Kohls. Not too busy. Old Navy was next. That was definitely the busiest place we went to all morning!!!! The line went all the way to the back of the store! But I got a ton of stuff. Great deals there. Also went to Walgreens, Bed Bath and Beyond, Carter's, and Michaels. When I got home DH tucked me right in for a nap :goodvibes

and when we left there just before 11..they still had both of those specials on pallets near the infants dept..there were still tv's, blue ray players, and the $398 computers..the only things they did seem to be out of were the $200 computers and some of the video game stuff (which we aren't into so didn't bother me)
we got to the registers..everyone was open..and I got behind a lady that had 1/2 cartfull..and we were out of there within about 20 min after getting in line!

JCPenney's seemed more crowded than Walmart for some reason!..we live in a very small town..where the SuperWalmart, Penney's, and Sears, and a Big Lots and Roses are our only real choices!

wow! i bet our wal-mart was sold out of all that stuff within a few minutes! but shipping only cost me $1.84, so it was worth it to not have to get out in the cold and wait. a friend of mine went to our wal-mart before 5 am and was really ticked because they let everyone get stuff off the pallets BEFORE 5 am, so she missed out on several things she would have gotten otherwise. it kind of stinks when a store doesn't follow their own rules. another reason i'm glad i shopped online.

I went to the local mall. It was not as crowded as I thought it would be. I went to Best Buy and got a good deal on a video camera for my dad. Hit Target and a few other stores. Got quite a bit done...I'm pretty pleased with myself.

I survived Black Friday. As a general rule I don't do Black Friday. I hate to shop as it is but.... we were going to get the kids bikes for their birthdays in the sping but at $30 for the boy's 20" and $49 for the women's 26" (and bonus it was in purple) I decided to give it a try. Although there are 3 Walmarts closer to me I chose the one I did because it is open 24 hours and it is usually kept up pretty well. I'm glad I did. They were very well organized. Fortunately there weren't that many people waiting for bike tickets so I was able to get the women's bike ticket, pay for it and get the boys bike ticket and pay for that and then go around to pick them up where they put it in my car. It was great. I got home to discover they gave me a men's bike instead of a boy's bike so I drove back (it's only 14 miles one way) and traded.

I will definitely go out of my way to go to this Walmart again. I have 2 within 5 miles of my house and 1 10 miles away but everyone was, nice helpful etc. at this one. I actually went back later in the day to get a new tire (as I had a flat yesterday) and the kids and I bought some Christmas gifts while there.

It wasn't bad here and I even slept in til 6:30. No one was at Game Crazy and then I decided to brave Best Buy. There were still parking spots left and I got there several hours after they opened and they still had quite a few of the early morning deals left. No problem parking at the mall either.

We got up at 4:30.. then we hit Target (for a couple of board games and a Wii game), Wal-mart (OMG. The check out line was INSANE!!), then we took a break and had breakfast, next we hit the Mall (only 3 stores) and then came home. We were done before 8am and it was great!!

The night before we went to Michaels and Old Navy.

I finally have a Black Friday partner! My DD15 and I went to WalMart but not until 7:30 a.m. We got the digital camera I wanted for my DS and the gps I wanted for my Dad (and one for me ;)). My DD was great - she found the 2 gps units in odd places where people must have set them who changed their minds (otherwise they were just sold out when we got over there). WalMart handled things very well and the lines were bearable with every register open. They even had enough staff on the floor to actually be helpful.

Target was awful - junky, not enough staff and not many great deals compared to WalMart.

Kohl's was fun - especially for DD who picked out most of her Christmas presents .

Can't wait for next year - it was so much fun with my new favorite shopping partner!

I had the exact opposite experience. Walmart was awful and Target was awesome!

Went to Wal-Mart for 4 am to get a $198 dollar laptop and were already sold out, went to Best Buy (Didn't see anything I wanted) and ended up buying the "Star Trek" DVD for myself at Target which wasn't even on sale. :sad2:
But I went to Waffle House after that at 6 am and got a cheese omelette so the morning wasn't a total loss...:thumbsup2

Which I could have got the dvd later this week, but dang it, I was gonna buy something on Black Friday if it killed me! :lmao:
