I am absolutely sick to my stomach right now. We just returned this evening from 8 days at the world. We had a great time using our AP's & park hopping.

When we go we always take any extra tickets we have in case we go to a water park. (we don't have PAP's). Well, I am almost 99% certain that I threw these in the garbage this morning while going through some papers & throwing away the things I didn't need before we got on the plane.

We had stayed 2 nights at YC & then moved over to OKW. I had 4, 7-day park hoppers, which all had days left (I think 2 of them had 6 days each!). While unpacking this evening, I find they are missing & I think that I had put them in the envelope with our YC ressies. I threw that envelope in the trash this morning because I knew we didn't need the ressie information.

I have NEVER, EVER done this before. I always clean up all the papers when we return home. I am so disgusted with myself becaue I told myself before we left that I was going to photocopy the backs of the tickets in case anything should ever happen. We even have a home office with a photocopy machine. I don't know how I am going to sleep tonight. I am just sick to my stomach thinking about this.

My DH told me not to worry because there's nothing I can do if that is what happened, but I just can't seem to think of anything else. :(

Anyway, let my mistake be a lesson for others. Photocopy the backs of your tickets & keep all receipts. These tickets are probably about 5 or 6 years old so I don't have the receipts. Most important, check inside everything before you toss it in the trash.

I'm trying to think positive & hoping they'll turn up somewhere in a hidden pocket of some luggage & I'm also trying to be very positive & think all that matters is that we had a good time, got home safe & will be able to go again. Right?

Sorry to hear about your potenial loss. I am sure a good many people will benefit from your words of wisdom.

Here is a word of encouragement for you. In July I was certain I brought our checkbook along. I looked everywhere and made myself almost sick with worry wondering where I lost it. Turns out I never took them with us. They were at home all that time. I worried about it for nothing. We still had a great time; but it does put a bit of a damper on things when something like that happens.

So, here's some pixie dust coming your way! Maybe Tink will help you find the passes hidden hiding place!:wizard:

Sorry to hear about your blunder. Your husband is correct, however: Don't beat yourself up over it, we all have done similar things so you are not alone in the gaffe, but the fact is what's done is done. No amount of 'if only"s will change it.

It was very sweet, and quite bold, actually, of you to expose yourself for the good of others on this board.

Hats off to you and your family!

So sorry! Ugh! I know that feeling well.

I know that I lose things easily - which is one of the reasons we do UPHs. More expensive - less flexible. But I won't be kicking myself when I can find neither the tickets nor the copies with the numbers that I "stuck in a safe place." I really don't know how so many people manage to hang onto those things without losing them. (I do know my weaknesses)

We lost one of our UPHs this last time - left in a FastPass machine I'm sure. Room key, park ticket, with charging privledges on it - and unsigned. I spent half a day sick to my stomach until the hotel could tell me nothing had been charged to it between the time it got lost and the time we reported it missing. Worse, when I went to report it missing, the phones were down in the AK, so I had to go from Tusker House to Guest Services to get it cancelled - running through AK in ninety degree heat. It wasn't the most pleasant day of our trip.

Here is hoping you find those DANG tickey in the least expected spot, like your shorts pocket, camera bag, suitcase pocket, kids backpack.

Sorry, I know how aggravating to lose something ...... when you NEVER do .... IS!

Give that DH a hug. He's a sweetie.

My DH gave me a hug and then worked hard to clean the interior of our car. I had placed a bag with 2 spray cans of paint on the back seat of the car. I stayed at a meeting longer than I had planned, so the cans were in the locked car in the hot sun. When I stopped at a red light the bag fell onto the floor and one can sprayed orange paint all over the back of our new car. I worked for 2 hours cleaning it before DH got home, but it was still a mess when he saw it. We never did get it completely out.

I don't have good luck with our new cars. I was recently rear-ended in our present car. I'm fine, but the car only had 5,000 miles . It now has a new rear bumper and tail gate. Wouldn't you know the teenager had the state minimum of insurance coverage, so we had to pay our deductible towards the repair bill when I was hit in a line of cars doing nothing wrong.

Heres to hoping you find them in an unexpected place, you never know! A word of info for next time is to photocopy the back of the pass and keep the receipt. You can then go to guest relations and have the pass re-issued if lost. They will "recreate" the pass with the same amount of days and plus's as the lost pass.

If you were to lose regular park hopper passes, can they reissue those ones too. I was just wondering?

Thanks for all your kind words. :D As of today I still haven't found them & I'm not holding out hope that I do. I am still "sick" about it but I'm trying to get past it & move on.

Like one of you said "what's done is done". I guess in the whole scheme of life this is not such a big deal. There are worse things that could have happened & park passes are replaceable.

I'm still praying to St. Anthony to help me find them though!!!

Yes, make a copy of the back and front so you will have the numbers. Also keep receipts from purchase whenever possible. You would be able to replace a lost/stolen ticket at guest relations. They will re-issue a ticket with the remaining days and plus options if you have used it and give you a new one if it is unused.

And it probably isn't a bad idea to make two copies. Leave one at home and tuck one in your day bag or luggage - someplace seperate from you PHs though!

MELSMICE, you are right. There are worse things to lose than park tickets. Isn't it the worst when you KNOW that you should have copies. I was kicking myself because I KNEW I should have told everyone to sign their cards, but I didn't.

Oh boy ... I KNOW that sick feeling ... a couple of years ago I cleaned out my wallet ... made three piles ... "very important" ... "save" and "trash" ... somehow I managed to trash my save pile ... I tossed out my voter registration card, my "credit card" birth certificates for me and my grandson, my social security card ... ugh!!!

I did finally get everything replaced, but it still makes me sick to think about it and I'm really scared to switch to a new wallet again.

I recently lost my daughters 7 day park hoppe, I called Disney Specail Ticket services 407-566-4985 (open until 4:45pm)and I told them that I had ordered my pass though The Disney Club using my discount last year (Nov 2002) and they said no problem every transaction has a reservation code and they gave me my code, they said when I get o the park go to guest relations and show id and my adult park hoppers I also bought on that same day and they can print a new ticket for my daughter, Call the number maybe they can help you also.

I just keep remembering how many times I walked into my bedroom & said to myself "Oh yeah, photocopy the park tickets" then got sidetracked with something else & never did it. UGH!

I have already made several photocopies all the cards and the receipt also. Now i just have to put everything in a safe place.
Thanks for your info.
crisi, good advice to keep several in different locations.
Thanks

i could see myself doing just what you did.
don't beat yourself up! i'm famous for moving things
from place to place until i've totally lost all track of where
they are.

for instance, i had passess to six flags, ohio. we didn't use them so i put them on ebay. well, someone had a question
about the ticket and i couldn't find them ANYWHERE.

i looked in the folder i put them in in the first place, then looked in the envelope i put them in next. then proceeded to just look everywhere. I mean under my bed, in the closets.

i never did find them. i had to cancel my auction. i don't know if i accidently threw them away or what. it makes ya nuts! i hope you'll somehow find your passes. at least they're good forever. six flags passes expire!

if not, remember life is short and you're only human

;)

Oh my gosh, I've done something like that. I was traveling around with 2 gift certificates in my car on my car seat. Well someone had to sit in the seat, and I must have stashed them on the side of the trash can. Well, sure enough, must have thrown them out with the trash. 150 $ in the garbage. Still bugs me! But like everyone said, oh well, what are you gonna do? I've left my PH pass in the hotel room before, and Guest Services has issued me a new one day hopper. I've done this on two sep. trips! You know, mom keeps track of everything.....yeah, except those darn PH!

One idea, if you are making photo copies of your passes, tickets etc. You should leave them with an at home contact person, or at least have some one who has access to your house know where they are. That way, if you need the at home copy, you can get to it.

Rumple mom, Oh my goodness!! You need to give that DH another hug, mine would have gone bizurky! One reason never to buy a new car! LOL! I have a '98 Caravan, purchased in 2000. All I have to do is look at the back seats after my kids have been in, and know no more new cars for me for awhile!

Hang in there!

My sister-in-law put her wedding ring/engagement ring into a ziplock bag in her diaper bag to take to the jewelers to get a prong fixed. Long story short.... she forgot to go to the jewelers, cleaned out her diaper bag a few days later by taking out the diapers and clothes and dumping the rest directly into the garbage pail in the garage. Didn't realize her mistake until it was too late (many days later).... Makes me sick to think of and it wasn't even my ring!! :(

Well, I have one to add also. For a wedding gift in May we received 4 tickets to Holy Land (one of our guests works there). We moved in June and I lost track of where everything was. In October, I searched high and low to find those silly tickets. I finally found them in a box with wedding cards. So, I had them in an envelope and would you believe it- I have lost them AGAIN!! I have searched that house for them and can't seem to find them. My husband says when I find them to give them to him and he will keep track of them. I am blaming the whole incident on "pregnancy brain". LOL

Good luck- hope you find your tickets.

My dh, trying to help out several Christmas's ago, dumped out a duffle bag, with wrapping remnants and such, into the trash. Of course, how was he to know that the diamond studs he gave me were in there too??? Yep, right to the dump they went. See, you're not the only one who dumps first and remembers later!!!!
