My view is that when one rents they ARE using their points. So a member who reserves their home resort in their 7-11 month window for renting or personal use is actually more deserving than an owner at another resort wanting to trade in at the 7 month window, IMO.

As I said, this is my opinion. Because one is an owner at that resort and one is not. If you look back, it's the individual POS that allows renting more so than the multi site POS which ties them together. The member at that resorts pays the dues for that resort. Anyone who "trades in" including through DVC, should get second priority behind owners at that resort.
