I still don't know what to do ref car seat

Hi there, the most important aspect to take into consideration is your childs weight to use a booster seat they must be over 40lbs in weight although I suppose if a child is only 2 and weighs over 40lbs I would still use a full car restaint. My daughter is 4 1/2 years and weighs 42lbs so I will be using a booster seat for her. My youngest dd is almost 3 and weighs 30lbs therefore I will be using my own car restraint (taking her car seat with us)

Hope that clarifies. We had intended hiring these out there however after reading numerous posts regarding the condition of the seats I have reconsidered and definitely taking my own.

Therefore IMO Tron I would say your booster seat would be legal in Florida and perfectly safe.

Thanks for those additional comments, I most certainly do feel the seat is safe, otherwise she wouldnt be in it here! ...I might worry a bit if get allocated another Kia Sadona people carrier (after reading the crash test reports on them)

Now all I have to worry about is if Virgin count the seats in the luggage allowance, as someone says they do, as there will also be a Brittax Eclipse for my younger child, which is pretty weighty.

I didnt realise that you get a clear bag for them, thats pretty handy, as the back and booster bit seperate quite easily.

Im pretty sure Virgin don't count it towards your luggage allowance as its an essential item just like a buggy or pram and they can't charge for that.

BA don't count a child seat towards your baggage allowance. We just put a luggage label on ours, marked it fragile and checked it into the oversize items desk - no bag or anything.

Had no problems at all.

Virgin have never weighed our car seats, as it is not considered part of the allowence.

where are you staying? your going four days after us. im so excited cos its our first trip.

i just got my kids id bands yesterday and bought loads of sun cream. its getting closer and closer now. i just need to buy another large suitcase on wheels.

We are staying at a villa just off 192 on Wellington reserve How about you guys? Lucy what are ID bands and where do you get them. I was going to make little cards laminate them with all their information on them use lanyards to attach them but Id bands sounds alot simpler lol
