OK, you can believe if you want to. I didn't know if I did, but I was willing to give it a try.

We listed our house and put a statue of St. Joseph on the mantle of our home. The first people who came were planning to buy the house for their son, who was subsequently killed in a firey car crash in our small town.
The house showed only twice again before we had to move to our new city.

The movers packed our stuff, and I noticed when unpacking that St. Joseph somehow came with us. I put him on my mantle of my new home, said my daily prayers, and waited. Nothing happened.

For two months, St. Joseph sat here at my house in Dallas. The house didn't have a single second showing. I have been paying two mortgage payments plus utilities for three months straight. That's not easy when your new salary is little more than half of what it was before. St. Joseph's being here just wasn't working. I decided to send him back to Mississippi with a friend who came to visit. I asked my friend to bury him near the front door of the house. I kissed the little guy good-bye, packed him in a zippy bag, and sent him on the 8-hour trip.

The day after he arrived in Mississippi, a couple saw our home and really liked it. The husband was offered a job the next day, and they came back to see the house a second time. The couple made an offer on the house, and so I called my friend to be sure he buried St. Joseph. He had forgotten to do it.

We submitted a counter offer the following morning. The couple never responded. We waited 4 days. The deal finally fell thru last night, and we gave up on our realtor, whose listing had expired on Tuesday.

Then magically, today, the buyers had a change of heart and accepted our original counter-offer. They also agreed to close in a time frame that would keep us from having to make another payment.

When I called my friend to tell him what happened, he told me he buried St. Joseph on Wednesday night.

So. The moral of the story: If you're a believer, St. Joseph can help you out with the sale of your house. You have to bury him though. You can't put him on the mantle. And you have to give him 24-36 hours. He'll come thru every time.

Neat story. I don't honestly belive the statue had anything to do with it at all, but it still makes a neat story. :sunny:

I hope it works for me !!!! I buried my St Joesph two days ago! My house has been listed for 6 months, we show it about 2-3 times a week, not one offer!

Wish me luck! :grouphug:

Holy smoke! I'd better go out and get a St. Joseph...or two! We could use all the help we can get. ;) Glad it worked for ya.

True story...when my parents tried to sell the house I grew up in, it was on the market for 15 long months. My grandmother gave my mother a St. Joseph statue and told her she needed to bury it in the backyard, facing the house. My mother was skeptical and said that wasn't going to help. Grandma buried St. Joseph and they ended up getting an offer three days later. The next house they ended up trying to sell, my mother buried St. Joseph and the house sold within a month. Not sure if its just coincidence.... :)

He's been buried in our backyard for two months now and hasn't done squat.

I buried my St. Joseph about a week after we put our house on the market. That was three weeks ago. We haven't received any offers yet, but we have had 8 or 9 showings in three and a half weeks--our real estate is amazed and said it is one of the busiest listings in her office. Our house is nothing special, just a typical starter house with only 865 square feet.

Someone left our St. Joseph on our doorstep one day, with instructions about what to do. My kids were so excited about it and helped me bury it. It has really been special to us :goodvibes

Around here, they say you have to bury him upside down. We had a hard to sell house and I buried him out front. We auctioned the house and it went for the minimum we had put on it. Don't know if he helped with it or not.

My Mom buried a statue of St. Joseph upside down and the house she had been trying to sell for 4 years(!) finally sold.

Here's my story.

Had our house listed for 2 months, went and purchased the St. Joseph statue, didn't bury it yet. The house down the street was having an open house, so we also put our Open House sign out. A great couple came and looked at the house and put in an offer, between the lawyers something happend (long story) and they cancelled the deal.

I buried the statue and a couple of days later they called and said they really liked our house and still wanted to buy it, so we now have a deal.

When we sold our townhouse I planted St. Jospeh but head up, - nothing happen, so I reburied him nead down and we sold.

The statue is only about $5 I figure you have nothing to lose buy trying it!

We're about to sell & I've been thinking I need to pick up a St. Joseph. Anyone want to sell me a lucky one? LOL. ;)

It worked everytime for us. My niece and nephew have been trying to sell their house for some time now and I told her about this and she finally went out and bought and buried St. Joseph. She had two showings right away. Keep your fingers crossed! :thumbsup2

Am I the only one here who thinks burying a statue is just plain weird? :confused3 I think I'd be freaked if I ever came across a buried statue while gardening.
:lmao:

OP - glad it worked for you - the story about the son dying in a crash is heart wrenching. And, yes, I do believe in the power of prayer to the saints, just not in charms or statues.

After you sell you are suppose to dig up St. Joseph and display him in your new home.

Where do you buy these statues? I've had 3 people tell me to do this in real life. Our house has been for sale for just over a week and no showings at all yet. It just made this weekends paper though. I want to sell quickly because my dh took a job 1000 miles away and we are apart until the house sells (with 3 kids!). :guilty:

We listed our house for sale & only had 1 showing in 90 days.

We relisted & buried a St. Joseph statue. Within 6 hours of the house going back into MLS we had 3 full price offers. :thumbsup2

I dont know if it worked, but I figure it can't hurt.

Look up St Joseph home selling on Yahoo or Google. You will get all kinds of sites that offer "kits".
