My dh thinks the girls are to young. At the time of the cruise Riley will just turn 4 and Reese would be 1 1/2. Is it to young? I would like to do a 4 day cruise and than go back to SSR or AKL. Any suggestions for the young ones ?

I don't have kids that young any more but have seen plenty their age on our cruises. They would love the character photo ops. I have heard children crying to go back to the kids club! I have heard rave reviews from parents about the programs there. We have children younger on our upcoming cruise.

Vacations aren't just about the kids. They may not remember it but you will. (And I am not saying they won't) You will get great joy seeing them having fun and at the same time getting the relaxation that you both need with two little ones. There is also the consideration that the youngest would still be no charge at this point. I think the age is under 2. And the 4 yo. would be reduced fare as the third person in your cabin. It won't get any cheaper.

Words of advice - book early. We booked a year out and saw our fare climb by $500 before we sailed. Use the Chase Disney Visa to get 6 months same as cash for your deposit and then again when you make your payment. You will also get a $50 onboard credit for using this card. Of course you could use points........

Just my two cents: we have cruised many times with our daughter - 6 alone on Disney. Disney cruises are very $$$$ I would wait til your youngest can do the kids clubs - everyone will enjoy the trip much more and you will receive full value for your money. They don't have to spend every waking moment in the club - vacations are for family time - but that way it is an option and if they are anything like our daughter - they will LOVE them.

We've waited a bit. Our DGC will be 4, 5 and 6 next May when we try the 3 night DCL cruise. In view of the way our WDW trips have been, they are getting better and better as the kids are getting just a bit older, I am glad that we didn't go when they were younger. We are all looking forward to next May!

Bobbi:goodvibes

PS. Plus the 3 night cruises are over the weekend, so we're not spending the high weekend points at WDW. We're doing BCV before and hopefully AKL Kidani afterward.

I completely agree with this. We first cruised when DS was 3 and DD was 6. It was so nice for them to be able to have their club time while DH and I had a bit of time in the adults-only areas. They now have Flounder's Reef nursery for the little ones, but it isn't the same as the clubs. Plus, your 1 1/2 year old really won't get any cruise-specific enjoyment from the trip. At that age they are happy wherever you go.

I'd save the cruise until your youngest is 3. It's only another 18 months and, personally, I think you'll have a better time. Oh, and I'd go with the 7-day cruise rather than the 4-day. The 7-day sailings are amazing!

Thanks for all the opinions. I think we will wait. Dh want to wait til my youngest is 4.

I haven't looked into it too much. When all is said and done, how does the price of a cruise compare to the price of going to a Disney moderate resort for the same length of time, figuring in DDP and park tickets? Comparable, or more/less? If it was less, I would do it. Comparable or more, I think I would just go to SSR and enjoy the parks....and use a different cruise line if I still wanted to cruise.
