Ue to my disability I can't see at all in the dark and very slow when I have to climb stairs so hold I get a GAC or do mainstream and hope for the best going to DL for the first time if that helps

Absolutely get a GAC! Go to Guest Relations, explain your needs just as you did here, and they'll let you know the best accommodations. I would think at best you'd need to avoid stairs, otherwise you might present a safety hazard to yourself and others (if they try to go around you on stairs). I will say, unfortunately, that I have heard GAC for vision difficulties can be widely varied in how well it is handled at each attraction. But that is no reason to NOT request one. Also make good use of any other means you have available to you - like a white cane which signifies to others that you have vision difficulties.

Enjoy your vacation!

Thank you just wanted to see if I was a candidate for one especially after hearing about the abuse

Thanks just making sure I am a candidate after herring about the abuse thank you for putting my mind at ease

Only the CMs at Guest Relations in a park can truly determine "eligibility" - but definitely explain your needs as you did here and you should find some level of accommodation they can offer to you. If you find that what is offered does not work out for you, return to Guest Relations and discuss it further, they may be able to offer something different.

Enjoy your vacation!

Thank toy and sorry for the double post

Make sure that you are clear that it is not a preference, but a safety hazard for you to be on stairs and in dark queues. The person in Guest Relations will then figure out the best way to help.

And, if you haven't read the disABILITIES FAQs thread, you can find it near the top of this board or follow the link in my signature.
Post 6 is about GACs. There is also a post on page 2 of the FAQs thread about attractions with stairs and moving walkways - you will want to be aware of both.

Sorry - was reading in the dark here. The list is for WDW. Some of the same attractions at DL have moving walkways or stairs, but there are others that do not.

OP. please write back and let us know how it worked out. (we may be going to DL for the 1st time in the fall and DH also has low vision)
good luck, and thanks!:grouphug:
