I am going to be honest and admit I didn't want to. I don't like the little troll...I mean Tom Cruise...and I thought MI 1 was just OK, and MI2 was dumb.
This one is better. Phillip Seymour Hoffman is EXCELLENT. He is 100 times the actor that TC is. The plot line is engaging and keeps your interest, and doesn't let you dwell on TC's inability to act. I can hardly look at TC bugging his eyes and pretending he's trying to control his emotions without laughing out loud. The action sequences are prettty good, and there were a couple of funny bits. This one has more of a sense of humor than MI2 by a mile.
My DH and DD#1 (14) thought is was great. If we hadn't just been through this year of TomKat overload (and remember I'm from Toledo, where new developements often lead the nighly news) and couch jumping, I probably would have liked it even more. I'm just so burned out on TC.

Thanks for the review. I know what you mean about TomKat burnout. Geesh, enough is enough!

DH asked me if anyone had seen it just as I was scrolling by yours. Thanks for the review!

I saw it a few days ago as well. I'm not a huge action movie type of person, and I'd never seen MI 1 or 2, but I was going to a free screening, so I figured I might as well just go. Aside from the mentioned TomKat thoughts that came into my head a few times during the movie, it was a great movie. Lots of action and suspense and there was still a good story.

If anyone wants to read a review, my boyfriend has a site at: http://movietack.net/id690.html

My boyfriend and I are going to see this today if we can ever get motivated to get into the city. :)

Thanks for the review.

We saw it yesterday afternoon. It definitely had plenty of action! I liked it better than the 1st one, for sure. I honestly don't remember a lot about the 2nd one, so I can't compare it to that one.

I would love to see this movie, but because Whacko Tom is in it, I won't, but I LOVE Phillip Seymore Hoffman, maybe there is a way I can see it and cover my eyes when Tom is on screen? :confused3 :rolleyes1

DH and I saw it today and we both really liked it. DH said a couple of times he thought about how annoying TC has been this year but I was just into the Ethan Hunt character so it really didn't bother me.

His love interest in the movie looks a lot like Katie Holmes, but he said on The View that he met Katie after he started the movie.

DH and I just got back from seeing it. I liked it. But I loved the 1st one, the 2nd one I cant remember a lot about. I do enjoy the whole gadgety type cat and mouse chase type of movie like this.

And I will admit....I did turn to DH and say that while Tom Cruise has seemed quite nutty the last year, sorry folks, but he is still easy on the eyes.

we went and saw it friday night when it opened, and i hated it.. i hated the first 2 but a whole group of us was going so i went.

Eh, Tom still makes good movies and I'm an oddball who couldn't care less about his private life so I'll probably go see it. I liked him in War of the Worlds so I expect to like him in MI3. Thanks for the reviews and not too much of the constant ripping on Tom Cruise. :)
