I saw 2 extreme makeover home edition trucks today

So because I am a curious person(not nosey) Dsis and I followed one. It went down by the lake and pulled into the driveway of a very expensive home. So we guessed this wasn't the home they are working on. Did a little on line research and found out nothing. Apparently I wouldn't make a good detective. I live about 4 minutes from the road I saw these two pick ups. OK all you super sleuths how do I find out where in my area they might be working. I am in Michigan if anyone has heard anything please let me know.

Maybe check the different news stations sites or newspapers in your area to see they are covering the story. Two years Extreme Makeover came to my area and local ABC affliate covered the construction and had stories daily during the construction.

They are in our area to build in the next 2 weeks and it is all over the news, I am sure if they were building you would know about it.

That's a good idea. Dsis thought maybe they were just checking out possibilities in our area but why two trucks................

Hmmmm very interesting. I know a local contractor who used to be on the city board and an attorney that is currently on the city board. I wonder if I could squeeze some info from them...............

What kind of trucks did you see?

Large, about the size of a medium to large size moving van? Disney uses trucks like these for all sorts of things. The advertisements on the side are just for the various shows. Some of them have EM:HE, some have Wipeout, some have Good Morning America on them.

They very well could be shooting something for a regular TV show in your area and just using the standard Disney moving trucks for equipment. Or, they could be shooting something for a commercial. Or, gosh, so many possibilities!

Or, they could be from the show.

Opps sorry. They were oversized pick up trucks(LOL) They both had the attached Etreme makeover home edition on the side. One of the trucks has a women with long blonde hair driving. They other pick up had a small open trailer behind it. I saw one pulling out of a local business and then later saw this truck and with a little sleuthing pull into the driveway of a home. The other pick up with the trailer was pulling out of this same side street earlier in the day. This street is a dead end street because it runs along the lake. I do not believe any of the homes on this street were having anything done, heck I can't even afford to drive down this street(LOL). Susan

I wrote a brilliant post and was logged out while writing and lost it. The Extreme Makeover crew just completed a build here. They wrapped filming today. I do believe there are at least two builds being worked on simultaneously, Paul and Tracy were here while Ed and Paige were in Houston. Ty travels back and forth (when does that man rest?)

We knew EM:HE was coming to the area about three weeks before it happened. The home builders association had been notified that a family had been selected, and that's all they knew. I guess they were supplied a list of needs and got working on organizing materials and volunteers. It was a spectacular thing and really has brought a great sense of pride to the community.

I followed the EM:HE Facebook page and website designed for the project, plus local news (paper and tv) had daily updates.

"Our" episode will air in October, I think. It should be the third or fourth episode for the upcoming season, which debuts 9/26.

I am also in Berks County and was just coming to post the same thing! What an amazing process to see. I can't wait to see "our" episode air either.

Is the fancy house a Contractor's House?? Maybe they are setting up something in the future. And trying to drum up some volunteers.

Now the family is at Disney and the house is torn down already.

I'm excited to see that episode. One of my best friends lives in Hamburg and she was telling me the back-story.

Did you ever find anything out? Is it possible that you are near Flin? There have been rumors of a build in that area. Takes a bit of time to do all the paperwork and planning and preconstruction before that actual doorknock. Maybe you saw some planning going on.
