I saved over $450 with AAA on MYWpkg.

UGH My AAA agent called me at 3:00pm and said that the computers were still down. So I don't know when she will call me. Heck I don't even know if I can get the room I want the longer it takes. How do you know what to calculate to know what the AAA quote should be close to.

We are going July 11-17th
2 adults
3 children 2 yrs, 7 yrs, 9 yrs

We want the MYW pkg with hopper and dining. We want the Lagoon view concierge room at Poly. I am new to AAA can someone help me try to calculate so I know what the AAA quote should be close to? Also should I get trip insurance in case of a hurricane or something, is it really worth it?

WDWBetsy,

I don't blame you $150-$200 or whatever the savings will be isn't anything to sneeze at. That savings could cover airfare or whatever.

Leslie32,

Take the rack rate per night for when you are going, add the tax then take the percentage off and that is what each night would cost. Also I included a link for what the AAA % is at each season.

Here is a link with the rack rates and a link of the seasons

Also here is a link to figure out the MYW passes:

Just change the number of people, put in the cart and that will give you the total price of the tickets.

When I called my AAA agent to book the rate she gave me, she said that Disney would not honor the rate they gave her last night! She said that kept on insisting that she asked for something wrong! She even had the name of the person she talked to and it didn't help. They tried every figuration possiable and still could not figure how she got the price that was quoted to her! She was on the phone with Disney for over an hour and she insisted that they give her a better price than what is Disney's normal price. She did a little better, but only saved maybe $150.00. But that is not the almost 400 savings I thought I was going to get! So I don't know what to do, I have to give my agent an answer tonight, there is a 24 hour hold on it. :earseek: :earseek:

That is so frustrating. I can see why you are upset. I got a quote on a package that was about $700 cheaper than what I figured it should be (this was through CRO). But I didn't book it at the time (not realizing it was a huge savings until I was off the phone) and when I called back no one could figure out how I was quoted the lower amount. What are you going to do?

I don't know yet, but I have been checking offsite hotels right now! lol Maybe book less days at Disney and transfer them to Universal! :guilty:

Well, this explains why my AAA quote wasn't really a discount. One thing that happened with my AAA quote was that they added transfers and insurance to the quote that wasn't in the other quotes I have gotten. Since we are going in May/June, our transfers should be "free" with the new service, so I won't pay for that (we are going to rent a car anyway). I think I will give it a couple weeks and call back. Hopefully Disney will have the bugs out of their system.

DH's company had a huge computer conversion a year ago and I tell you, I feel for everyone at Disney because even after 2 years of building the system and a year of "testing" the system at DH's office, real life applications still showed bugs. It takes time.
