I constantly read threads from people wondering if it is beneficial to book through AAA. I booked my first free dining trip through AAA last year. I did the same thing this year. Only this year I am more savy about the benefits of using their credit card. My DH and I originally used it only for gas, but now I use it to pay for the AAA packages.
Between my gas rebates and 2% trip rebates, I now have $179 credited to my AAA credit card account. Essentially the cost of my trip went from $1430 to $1251. That if for 6 nights at POP 1 adult, DS-11, DS-13 and 3 - 10 day hopper with the pluses. DH is not going on this trip because we are going again over T-giving. I plan to turn my tickets into non-expiring and split them between the 2 trips.
So - if you are considering AAA, consider using their credit card. It can save you some $ on future trips.
