I said Ohana, not Obama!!!! - A BFF's do NYE TR **UPDATE 11/4 Pg. 38**

I hate to have to correct you, but the most beautiful drink in the world is actually the jalapeno margarita. :rotfl2:

Loved the sliders platter this summer. Soooooooooooo good! Ugh to the annoying guest who needed her wrap remade. Read the menu silly. That's why its there. ::yes::

I'll have to go back and edit my post. I'll put in the reason box: Because MEK says so. :lmao: I have to admit though, I do think that the margaritas at the Ditch are the best drinks on property.

The sliders are really good, I had them on a prior trip. The lady was just annoying. I mean come on, look at the menu! :rotfl:

OH NO I'm gonna cry for you leaving is the pits!!! I miss it already and it's only been 2 weeks WAHHHHHHHHH

Turtle Talk is so much fun! I haven't done that in so long!

That lunch looks really good. Do I spy couscous? :bitelip:

Wow, I didn't realize the trip was winding down! I guess I just forgot. I hope the Yeti didn't take it too hard!

Oh no...your trip is starting to come to an end!!! :(

Yay for the first row on Soarin! It really does make ALL the difference!

I know, leaving is so hard. This trip it was especially difficult because we had such a great time, I just didn't want it to end.

Turtle Talk is so much fun! I haven't done that in so long!

I rarely do Turtle Talk, but since taking the kids I've been on this kick.

You spied right with your little eye. There was couscous on that plate.

Yeti will be back shortly to share his overall thoughts.

I know, it always stinks to have to end it.

It really does make a difference on Soarin', and I wanted Farrell's first time to be the best.

Finding Nemo really has some awesome characters in it...I just watched it this past weekend with my little man and so many of those characters...Crush, Dory, the Sharks-Bruce, Anchor and Chum... have the greatest lines....

Ah... Kronk Dude-he has the best voice ever...

I'm a big fan of the Tangierine Cafe ... not just the food...(I have to try the sliders) but the whole atmosphere is great... love those tables off in that side room towards the front...)

Ick to people who don't read menus and then hold up the entire line... and make the CMs remake food... it's times like that I wish I had a taser ... not a really powerful one... just enough... to taser the person and make them think about what they did...;) maybe next time... she'd read the menu...

finishing up a trip is sad...

but there's always another one around the bend...

I love that Finding Nemo is full of great lines. That's what I love most about the Pixar movies. They just have great one liners in them.

I love Patrick Warburten! And I ADORE Kronk!

Tangierine is a great restaurant and the atmosphere is excellent. The only time I'm not a fan of it is during the summer. Because really, sitting outside in the heat is no fun while you eat.

You're right, there is always another trip around the bend.

Wow, can't believe this TR is almost over! It seems only so recently, it was just started, but I'm sure you've heard that before lol :thumbsup2 to the Jellies! They are pretty awesome especially after hearing crush talk about them. He gave new meaning to the word "dude". It really is a beautiful word and I'm really kinda disappointed now that a kid hasn't freaked out during Turtle Talk. Maybe once I finally get to see it, it will happen and I can just be really excited about it and all haha

:thumbsup2 to riding Soarin'! Poor Farrell though, but really at first, the lift off is a bit more intense than you think so I can understand. Hope those scars have disappeared now. :) YAY for traversing to WS! Never really noticed before how nice a pavilion Morocco is. Can't believe those people at Tangierine Cafe though! C'mon, enjoy some authenticity people! Will have to try out those sliders if Farrell is saying they are good (:

Can't wait to read about your last ride of the trip (*sadness*)! :mickeyjum

I know, sometimes it does feel like I just started it, but it's been since January! Where on earth is the time going? :confused3

Every time I've gone into Turtle Talk I've totally expected a child to just spaz out and run up to Crush on screen, but I have yet to see it. I'm still holdng out for it though.

The lift off is a little intense, and if you're not ready for it, that can take you by surprise. She did well though and really loved the ride. Definitely try the sliders. I've had them before too, they're great.

Turtle talk is one of my fave things to do, there's always something new and entertaining to see there! Soarin is another great thing, riding in the front is that much more awesome!!

BEST DRINKS EVER. Yum. Also yum to lunch! I love the sliders!

I love Turtle Talk, it's so much fun.

Soarin' in the front is the only way to go. :thumbsup2

Lunch was excellent as it always is there.

I'm so sorry I've fallen so behind. But I'm catching up now! I'm not going to comment too far back because... well... I'm too far back. :(

Although I have to say - ToT was a one-timer for Farrell!?!? Wow, that's too too bad! I love LOVE ToT!

I've never been to Raglan Road but your post on that one made me think I should try it out. I especially like that menu and the "frequently annoying questions".

Is it sad, weird, or just part of the Disney obsession that I get a little sad at the "last day" posts on everyone's TRs? Even my own! I am so happy reliving the beginning, but at the end it's like "meh, we went to MK, meh, last day."

I have definitely determined that I do NOT like cold weather days in theme parks. I don't like them. ANY theme park.

I wish I had breakfast at Sunshine Seasons! We had the breakfast on the Segway tour. It looks identical but it's not the same to be corralled into a certain place and have the food brought to you; it's like you're segregated. :( It was REALLY good though!

I STILL have not ridden Mission:Space. I can't believe it. Next time for sure, for absolutely sure. But not the Orange side. I cannot BELIEVE Farrell went for that!! Is the green side just like a show or something? Since there's no rotation?

I also can't believe that I haven't seen Turtle Talk yet either. It seems we're always running straight for WS (after a spin or two on SE).

I LOVE your monorail picture! That is one of my favorite shots I've seen in any TR! It really makes you feel like you're RIGHT THERE. I stole it and put it on my desktop for now; hope you don't mind - even though you appear to be in the smoking section, and I'm REFORMED.

Love your Morocco pictures. I went back in there for the first time I can remember on my trip, on the Segway tour. I was so surprised at how wonderful it was!

Sorry this was so long, but I am COMPLETELY caught up now! ... with this one. ...

Found your trip report just this week and managed to catch up. Reading it was actually one of the only things I accomplished this week, so I have to post a thank you for writing such a marvelous distraction--it sounds like so much fun! I'm looking forward to hearing about your last night in Disney.

That's okay, I fell behind on quite a few TR's recently too with all of the things that my Mom has been going through with my Grandma. I totally understand.

Although I have to say - ToT was a one-timer for Farrell!?!? Wow, that's too too bad! I love LOVE ToT!

Sadly, ToT was a one-timer for us. Not because Farrell refused to go back on it, but more because the parks were pretty crowded.

The frequently annoying questions on the menu at Raglan Road was the best part for me.

Cold weather in theme parks doesn't bother me too much. I can bundle up and work around it. Haha.

I love Sunshine Seasons! One of my favorite breakfast places, but then again it's one of the only viable breakfast places in Epcot Center.

I STILL have not ridden Mission:Space. I can't believe it. Next time for sure, for absolutely sure. But not the Orange side. I cannot BELIEVE Farrell went for that!! Is the green side just like a show or something? Since there's no rotation?

The green sides actual "ride" is exactly like the orange side, except they take out the spinning action. They do a pretty good side on it. Definitely give it a try. Farrell has no problems with spinning, so she was like "all right!"

I love Turtle Talk. You should definitely give it a try on an upcoming trip.

Yeah, we had to take a little "break" for Farrell, which is why you noticed us in the smoking section. I'm trying to push her towards reformation as well. :rotfl: But I'm glad you liked the picture. The timing was perfect. Steal away, it doesn't bother me at all.

Holy cow, I can't believe it's almost over! :(
Sounds like a perfect last big ride. I love Soarin'. And Patrick. :rotfl:

Mine too, it's so pretty!

I LOVE Patrick Warburton. I have always loved him, and I especially love him as Kronk. "Squeak squeaker squeak squeaken"

I'm glad that you liked the distraction of my TR. I love writing them and I love having readers that appreciate my sometimes twisted sense of humor. :lmao:

awesome trip report. Can't wait for the last day post.

You and I go to WDW very soon and will have a great time :cool1::yay:

I totally agree about the Grey Goose slushie! Soooooo delish! I have never eaten in Morroco, but I have heard it's good. I'm not a very adventurous eater though so I don't know if I'd like it or even know what to order!

Yes we do. And we will have a great time. :thumbsup2

You should definitely try Morocco at some point. They have a chicken platter that's really good and I don't think that you need to be a hugely adventurous eater to do it. If you eat gyros you can also eat the lamb, because it's prepared basically the same way.

Day 7 - Friday January 6, 2012

All good things......

I love that phrase by the way. I've always been a HUGE fan of Star Trek: The Next Generation (judge me if you will), and I loved that the final episode was called "All Good Things....." So, I figured it was an appropriate way to talk about our final hours in WDW.

We had finished our final exploration of World Showcase and headed out to the front of the park. Before our dinner reservation we decided to go back to the resort to get the majority of our stuff packed. We had an early flight. Boo. I hate early flights back.

But, we had one final, sentimental ride to go on.

A good old favorite of many. Definitely a favorite of mine. And with all of our fun on this trip, I think it was a great way to end out trip. An Epcot original is always great.

My favorite girl on the ride.

Because really, all people that work in a high tech computer lab dress like a go go dancer. True story.

"This....our Spaceship Earth."

Apparently in Farrell's future she had swiss cheese head! I didn't, but I always have my crazy stank eye face.

We thought our mission deserved a thumbs up.

0f0e026c.jpg

And with that, our final ride was over. Farrell thought it was pretty great and commented that she thought it was one of the best slower rides that they have. I agreed.

Without giving you all of the boring details, but the remaining portion of our afternoon was spent back at the Poly packing for our departure. That's depressing enough as it is, so I won't bore you with it and depress you further.

We had a dinner reservation at 7:30pm at Teppan Edo. This reservation had eluded me for the longest time. I just couldn't get it. But when we were on the trip, I was able to snag it that day! So I cancelled 50's PTC in favor of this. Farrell and I love us some Hibachi, so it was a good choice.

We arrived back at Epcot about an hour before our reservation time, but I made a fatal error.

I left Yeti back at the room. :scared1: Sorry dude!!!!

I would like to say that it's because I didn't want him to get burned up on the hibachi, but that would be a lie. I simply left him behind by accident.

We imagined him back at the room cursing us in a voice reminiscent of Cartman: "You guys!.......You better bring me back some cheesy poofs!"

We spent the majority of our remaining hour shopping in the China pavilion. Naturally! You can shop there for hours.

Who doesn't love World Showcase at night?

7ed38188.jpg

We also did the creep on Snow White.....

4133379f.jpg

And we made it to our final destination. Mark my word, I will be able to share a trip to Japan with you guys one day.

00d71112.jpg

We were seated in a matter of minutes which was awesome. They said we'd be waiting for 15 minutes, but that wasn't the case. And the crazy part? We were seated with a family from Wisconsin. What a small world! (Farrell lives in Wisconsin and I'm not far from the border).

d183ad21.jpg

I don't remember the exact name of my drink (clearly it was Midori something), but it was yummmmmmmm!

4f8c2381.jpg

We took a final picture together to commemorate our last evening.

2eeb9de8.jpg

One of the coolest parts of our meal! We had a female chef!

c1380304.jpg

She was amazing! In all the years I've been going to hibachi restaurants (we have A LOT really close to us in Chicagoland), I've never gotten a female chef, so Farrell and I thought that was awesome.

639f8bbb.jpg

After our perfect meal (because Teppan Edo is always great), it was time for us to head out.

4f6e363f.jpg

Well, our timing was impeccable, because Illuminations had just started.

0d6eca2b.jpg

I didn't take photos of the fireworks, I just like to enjoy it. But when I saw it was going on (I tried to time dinner that way), Farrell looks at me with amazement and goes:

"Wait, they do this one every night too?!!!"

I told her indeed, they did fireworks every night in the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. She was absolutely floored and said that this is clearly what set Disney apart from everyone else. I couldn't agree more. It's the overall experience for me. It's not about just thrill rides or anything. I'm going to go off on a small tangent here.

There have been a lot of things I've been reading online about the Fantasyland expansion and the subsequent expansion that Universal will be doing at Universal Florida. They're saying that Universal is going to beat Disney at their own game.

But to me, all Universal is doing is thrill rides. They're not giving me complete immersion. And while I love Universal, I'm much more for complete immersion. I mean come on guys, you've seen the pictures of the queue at the Little Mermaid ride? It's insane! And to me, it's the little details.

This last evening with Farrell solidified even further my love of Disney. We had been to both Disney and Universal on this trip. Our experience at Universal was less than stellar with the crowds, and I'm sorry, but with the sewer stink that seemed to permeate the park. Will that prevent me from going again in the future? No. But I took a first timer to Universal and to Disney, and she was floored by everything Disney had to offer and the overall experience. She finally drank the proverbial Disney water, and she got it. And I'm thrilled that she did. And our timing with Illuminations after our dinner? Perfect. I could see in her eyes that she knew why Disney was the leader in theme park entertainment. Because it's not just about thrill rides. It's about everything else that goes along with it. :lovestruc

Up next: We head home.
