I said I wouldn't do it...but I did it...

I made an 8:00 a.m. ADR for Akershus! Now, we always eat there anyway, just usually for a late breakfast, not a pre-park opening one. And, my reason for the early ADR...you guessed it...

TO TRY TO MEET ELSA AND ANNA!

My plan is to try to enjoy the breakfast and then send DH out at 8:45 to get in line, kiddies and I joining when we are done. Is this plan going to work? How many people will probably be in front of us in line at this point (assuming we beat the crowds entering at 9:00. Also, are people finding that you can see all the princesses in about 45 minutes? I'm so torn because I don't want to totally rush the princess breakfast that my kids love but at the same time I'm trying to get the best of both worlds!

Does anyone have experience in how this strategy is working? Is it possible to do both or should I just give up and make a choice? Thanks for any insights or advice!

I would just enjoy my breakfast and then see where the chips fall with the M&G afterward. In December we had an ADR at 10:30 and then met Anna & Elsa afterward with a 1.5 hr wait. My DH stood in line while we did Maelstrom & shopped. I thought it worked perfect and it was nice not to be stressed about it.

We are just going to eat and enjoy ourselves and then see how long the line is when we leave the restaurant. My husband would be so disappointed if he missed out on the girls seeing the princesses.

No experience how it works, just seems a shame to rush through breakfast like that.

if he goes out at 8:45, you should be one of the first families in line, as IG doesn't open until 8:50.

that being said, we ran from IG to norway last thursday and were the 10th or so in line and then found out it was back to 11 am. had our early breakfast at akershus on monday thinking it was the same and didn't bother with planning to meet them, so we took our time, and it was 9 am again. :worried:

our reservation was for 8:20 and we didn't get there until 8:40. we were sat pretty quickly and out of there at 9:20, seeing all the princesses. the line was 3.5 hours at that point.

We are doing the same thing for our trip in May. I have an 8:05am ADR (which we normally get anyways) and hope to be done by the time that the major rush of crowds come heading towards Norway. I actually booked not 1 pre-park opening ADR there, but 2 (same time but on different days of course ;)), I first did it because I had an extra credit to use so I figured why not go to our favorite breakfast since we are already in the park, but then it dawned on me that Anna and Elsa are meeting in Norway so if we are unable to see them the first date we are dining there, we will have a second shot at seeing them :goodvibes.

Edited to add: of course this plan will only work if they are still doing M&Gs in Norway :).
