I rescued a Puppy

I think I had mentioned this somewhere, but wanted to share a pic or 2 🤣
Last June my SIL was frantic, because there was this puppy about to be thrown in the garbage . 😡 I say we rescued him, but he really rescued us. Meet Milo

I’m curious @mommasita, were his original owners ever investigated for animal cruelty (the garbage incident seems like a red flag to me 🤷‍♂️)? I love animals, so hearing about that unfortunate scenario makes me sad. :sad1:

Awwwww. We had a little pomerianian like that who we rescued. The shelter had taken him to be put down and our vet was like nope! And called us. We'd just lost a dog and our other dog was really depressed. So we ended up with this dumb little yip yip dog lol. Apparently he must have been the runt of the litter because he had allll the problems. Collapising treachea, his kneecaps would pop out of place, his little tail was only about 3 inches long and he was about 8 lbs. He was about 2 when we got him. He really was the sweetest, most loyal dog, but dumb as a box of rocks. We tried to crate train him. But he was not having it. He would bark constantly, until his treachea shut and he'd pass out. Then wake up and start again. I only know this bc I tried once to record what happened when we left to see if he'd stop barking after we left or if he kept doing it. So we had to abandon that. Spent a ton of money on training and trying to work on his seperation anxiety. When we'd leave in the morning, he'd bark and jump up and bit the back of your legs. The only thing we ever sucessfully managed to train him on was ringing a bell to go out and sleeping on a pillow at the head of the bed so he didn't get smushed if we rolled over on him. when we got him, he was all black. He ended up with quite a bit of grey and white and looked like Rocket from Guardians of the Galaxy lol. He was a sweet little guy and my kids were so sad when he died a couple years ago. He lived to be 13, so much longer than predicted given his issues.

Thanks, we think he is the Cutest ever. He definitely is one of the most spoiled, but that’s ok. 🥰 and he no longer has those misfit teeth, we had them fixed, it interfered with eating.
He is an amazing dog, I call him my emotional support dog, he knows when I need him, and curls up, licks my face. He just knows. My husband said he hasn’t laughed in 6 years, and now he does again..
I think you are so special for rescuing this adorable puppy! I'm glad he has a happy home now. I can't believe some people would throw away a puppy like that:(
It's funny you say he rescued you, but that's how I felt about our dog. My daughter couldn't take care of him anymore with 2 little kids and other circumstances, so we took him. He was our comfort, lovable, and sweet dog. SAdly we had to put him down in his old age. He was blind, couldn't hear, and I think had some sort of cancer with pain. Enjoy every minute with your wonderful puppy:)

We never did “know” the original owners. When we stepped in, he was temporarily with this young lady, she had a home business, and could not keep him. She made me promise to keep him loved, etc, etc, and she would check in by texting weekly. Not a word.😒 I know she had by information, as we texted a lot prior, but all is well. This boy is living the life 🥰

I am not sure if I am the only one, but I kept going over scenarios in my head, he isn’t 100% purebred, the barking, etc. not to throw away of course, but perhaps people, you know, change their minds about wanting the puppy. 🤬

I could go on and on about the smarts, but I won’t. Lol. He is 1/2 human I think. 🤭

AWW he sounds so precious. I am glad he had you for all that time. 🌈

This guy is actually easy to train. He sits, goes up, gives paw, other paw, etc. but ya seperation anxiety big time. He has never had an accident in the house. He sits and spins at the door whenever we go to leave. We actually are not much help, he comes everywhere with us, 😬 we leave him with our cousin if we have an evening out, we keep saying we have to start that 😬 my dog has a skunk butt, it is a white stripe, and if you saw him from behind in the dark, you would think he’s a skunk lol

:hug:Mommasita, I was thinking about you recently and meant to reach out. Heartfelt thanks to you and your family for giving Milo a safe and loving home. He is precious, so cute. :dogdance:are such blessings. My own furry friend Champ, long an angel dog of God sure was. I completely agree that it is our furry friends who rescue us. I'm so thankful to read happy news from you :)

He is so adorable. He found a good, loving home and you found a wonderful loving companion. Love the pictures.
