I received a phone call regarding my Magic Band order

I just received a phone call on my cell from a North Carolina number. A really sweet woman had a concern about my recent Magic Band order. It seems that whatever I chose as a name for the inside of my band was flagged. Before she said it was my band I just KNEW it was my DS15 as he HAD to have the word SWAG for his name.

What's wrong with swag? It's on the under side of the Magic Band, isn't it? No one would see it anyway lol.

I also want to know if they let him keep it. I wonder why that was flagged? Unless I'm just too old and missing something, lol

I'm going to have to come up with something clever now.

Did anyone actually address you as that?

I think the name you are addressed by is the one registered to your band from your reservation, not what you print on there. Or at least that was my understanding of it.

So funny! You have to let us know if you had to change it. We are going in August & all 6 of us in our party came up with a "unique" name for our bands when we customized them this past weekend. Each one was a kind of joke that only our group would get. What would Disney care what was on the inside of your band? Swag is cute.

So .... did they let YOU keep it? I realize that there must be some control over what is put on the bands, but neither of those seem to be a problem in my mind.

So I take it that once the bands go into shipping mode, you can no longer see them on your MDE account?

I haven't been able to change or see my bands for a while on the site. The lady on the other end of the line said she was calling so that I could give her another name to put on my band. She didn't have the initial name I chose in front of her and that she was basically calling to let me know it was flagged and that I had to change it. I couldn't think fast and told her just to put my real name. Of course I can think of all kinds of names now.

I can tell you the name the CMs at the FP+ ride locations see is your real first name - I've seen it on the screen. At the entrance I believe they see your whole name (first and last) - I had a CM address me by my last name as in Mrs "R" at the turnstile - I can't remember if it was a regular CM or one with an ipad (we've been twice with MB)

I would always give them a Disney themed name when riding ET. Usually Mickey or Oswald.
