but unfortunately, I don't think we will ever stay here again.

This is our first time at CBR and I was so excited! We have stayed at ASMo and Pop so this was our first time in a moderate.

The resort itself is beautiful. The main building is big and there are plenty of choices for food. The CM in the food court area have been friendly and helpful and each time we have been in there we have not had any trouble finding a table. And while I think the bus service is better at Pop, I really have no complaints about it here.

However, the housekeeping here stinks! I am not a hotel snob, nor are we overly messy people. We throw our own trash away, make sure our clothes aren't on the floor, etc. However, we had to call at 12:30 last night to get clean sheets because when we pulled back the covers, we found all kinds of icky things in the bed. Little black hard things (I don't know what they were!). My dad has red bumps all over his ankle and we don't know what is causing them. But we found what looked to us like a dead bug in his bed! When we took the top sheet off of his bed we also found a wad of long blond hair (we all have short brown or black hair).

It was so icky! The lady that came and brought fresh linens told us they change the sheets on the fourth day but we have been here since Wed. and obviously these had not been changed.

Also, it was very evident that our floor has not been vacuumed since we got here and I found a straw on the floor next to the bed (we haven't had any food/drinks in the room). In addition, on our second day here, they left our dirty glasses so we had to call and get clean ones.

I am very disappointed in the cleanliness of this resort. I don't expect it to be spotless, but I do expect it to be clean.

Also, the rooms here are in need of a major overhaul. The carpet has stains all over it, the beds squeak horribly, especially when there are two adults in them.

We are going to have our room "VIP" cleaned today and then we check out tomorrow. At least we know the sheets are clean now!

Wow, that's really too bad.... we have stayed at CBR twice and I agree -- the CM's are wonderful -- but we never had any problems with housekeeping or cleanliness! I hope you enjoy what's left of your stay there -- it's our favorite resort!

It has been a year since we were there, but mousekeeping was wonderful and our room was spotless the entire time. I really hope that this recent slip is an exception and not becoming the norm =(

We were there Dec. 6th - Dec. 11th and had the same problem with Mousekeeping.

I've seen some pics of the CBR rooms, and I completely agree that they are in need of an update. They look like they haven't been changed since the 80's, which is too bad since the rest of the resort is nice... :)

They do ongoing refurbs at CBR. We had a stay at CBR in November and had no problems with the room. My sister is a real neat freak and the room met her standards.

We just didnt like the layout of the resort... as well as the many bus stops.

I adore CBR. We've stayed there three times and will stay there again in September. I love the theming and the grounds are gorgeous. The staff in Old Port Royale were great.

With that said, the housekeeping is very bad now, unlike previous visits. I was last there in November. The carpet was stained and there were dead bugs in the area where the carpet meets the wall. Housekeeping didn't vacuum until I left a note requesting it. I left $5 every day hoping things would improve, but they didn't. They did arrange DD's stuffed animals nicely a few times, but it was nothing like the stellar housekeeping we'd received in the past.

We were in Jamaica 41.

We had fantastic mousekeepers when we stayed at CBR, but that was many, many years ago. The rooms were fine then too. It's sad to hear that the resort is going downhill.

The critters in the bed sound like bedbugs - bag your suitcases for a long time when you get home so you don't contaminate the house, and make sure you wash all of your clothing as well.

I also really like CBR. Just the other day, I was doing a Christmas room decorating for a guest. I pulled up the blinds so that I could string lights around the window. The window sill was full of dead bugs. No big deal, it is Florida and that happens. I had brought these little 3M stickup things to put up the lights. The window was so dirty, they wouldn't stick. After going through several of them, I tried using little suction cups. Again, they wouldn't stick. I went to the bathroom and got wet toilet paper and tried cleaning the window area. I got a few to stick, but ended up having to use scotch tape. Not my favorite method because it doesn't look as nice.

Next time I do a decorating at CBR, I'll bring my own Windex and paper towels. :confused3

That is too bad about Mousekeeping during your stay.

We spent 9 days at CBR in 2006 & Mousekeeping did a great job.
We were there in early May though, when crowds are not so high.

Well, I have just returned today from a 10 day trip to CBR, and while we won't stay there again, it was not because of mousekeeping. We thought it was great. We just prefer the WL, but we found mousekeeping to be at the same level as the WL. We had a very clean room, bathroom and the carpet was not only vacuumed, my DH witnessed them steam cleaning the carpets of the building we were in as the rooms were vacated. So, DH decided to inquire about the carpet cleaning, and they told him that they are on a cycle to clean each building on a schedule between guests, and they rotate the building.
I'm sorry you had a bad experience, we liked it, but like I said we are WL people and we decided to give a moderate a try and we liked CBR!

Really? I thought the rooms looked great =) I love the wood blinds and the furnishgins were light and airy =)

I agree! This resort is beautiful but the bus stops were a pain. Plus lines were so long going to CBR near park closing that we would have to wait for 4-5 buses until we could get on. We never expereinced anything like this when staying at AKL.

Please write a letter to the powers that be....

Lots of complaints about mousekeeping lately....not just at CBR....

They need to know....someone is dropping the ball.
Thanks
Kerri

Right, there were some recent complaints about a serious lack of mousekeeping at the CR.

Maybe they are having staffing issues???

We have stayed at CBR twice and will not stay there again. The resort is beautiful, but the buses are a pain. I don't like all of the internal bus stops.

Our room was cleaned yesterday after our midnight "situation". Although there was still some icky things in the bathroom, the beds had clean linens and the carpet had been vacuumed.

Two people (I think the housekeeping manager and another person who looked like they were in charge) came to our room to be sure we were satisfied.

I was glad that they took my complaints seriously and at least tried to fix the situation. It was nice of them to contact us personally to make sure everything was okay.

Glad to hear it turned out better for you. We just returned from our stay at CBR from December 10 - 16th and we didn't have any issues with mousekeeping. We were staying in Trinidad North. Maybe it's just an issue with the mousekeeper assigned to that building? :confused3

We just got back yesterday from CBR. We stayed in Trinidad North for the first time. I thought mousekeeping did a good job with our room. It was always clean and they would always arrange the toiletries I left out on the vanity! They would lay out a white towel and neatly display my face and eye creams, perfume, etc. on the towel. One day they put my son's toothpaste and toothbrush in a cup with a towel folded in it.

My parents had a connecting room to ours and they also had no problems, but my Dad did casually mention one day that the carpet was in bad condition and looked like it needed to be cleaned. I then noticed some coffee stains near the table in our room - nothing that bad. If I spilled something on the carpet, I know I would use a wet washcloth and really clean it up. I bet a lot of people just don't care and don't take the time to clean up after themselves and over time, that amount of wear and tear is inevitable.

They did the same thing when we were there. I thought it was really cute how they arranged my makeup each day! LOL
