Hi. We are going o be in DLRP from Augst 26th - 30th. I am going to book Cafe Mickey for my DD's birthday one nght but didn't relaly want to tie us in to reservations every night. We wanted to get there and see which restaurants we liked and play it a bit more by ear. For those of you who have been in August - do you think this is a dangerous thing to do or should we be able to book places when we get there?

Whole France is on vacation in August. August is the most bussy month of the year in the resort so it can be a little bit dangerous to do what you want to try.

Especially the very popular restaurants can be completely booked up. (like Walt's, Auberge de Cendrillon, Cafe Mickey, Blue Lagoon)

But you can try the following: If you get there have a look at the restaurants you would like to eat at. And then try to book them for the rest or your stay at the very fist day.

If you don't book in advance as Marcus says I would book on arrival.

I'd book before going there... Just to be on the safer side...

We go in August and we've always booked in advance but that's because I like to be organised ;)

Why not work out where you fancy eating and make reservations?? You can always cancel/amend them if you change your mind when you get there.

I think booking in advance definately sounds like the best idea - now - does anybody have any good suggestions. We are already doing Cafe Mickey and have a 7 year old little girl with us?????

What are you looking for and what sort of budget.
We are keen on food and will be there this summer. So far on the list we have the Sunday brunch in the steak house, Annettes, Billy Bob's, Innoventions and California grill. I have thought about the princess meal but my youngest and are are probably going alone in oct and it is more a girly thing.

Don't want really expensive places but happy with the price of say CAfe Mickey, Walts etc. We did the Princess Breakfast at WDW in November so probably wouldn't do that in DLRP. Thought we would just grap a burger, hot dog etc lunchtimes so more than happy to pay a bit of dinners.

Have you thought about the Blue Lagoon this is about the same price as Walts. I like the buffet in Newport Bay club too. And Annettes is somewhere we always do. it is a fun place and they are much more inclined to dance at night.

:goodvibes We really liked the Rainforest Cafe... There were a couple of kids about your DD's age in there and they loved the giant elephant! Theres some pics in my reviews on the restauarant review sticky. The food was really good and there were giant portions! It was quite expensive though, but I thought it was worth it for the lovely atmosphere, good food, and friendly service. Another thing the kids seemed to like were the giant tanks of tropical fish... :goodvibes

You cannot book it though, so I would reccomend either coming out of the park for lunch (Which we found a good option- Much quieter!) or head there quite early on.

If it helps, I called the Dining reservation line today:

0033 160 304050 and she was more than willing to take reservations from me for July.

Very friendly lady and spoke beautiful english, I was a bit enrous before I rang as all I know is 'Parlez Vouz Anlgais?' and I can't even spell it!!

Blame my school, I did German, latin, Cantonese, Spanish and Japanese, but no french. :-(

Definitely give them a call and she said she could even try and get me a window seat at Walts for the parade!
