yesterday, they only had to prick my finger the once to check my blood for iron to give blood. I always have to have my finger pricked twice, and I either just make it at 38 or 39, or I get deferred and can't give blood.

I was so happy! I guess when I give blood again next time, that will be the test to see if it was just a fluke or if my diet really has improved my iron. I have been eating prunes every morning, and eating so much healthier, so it might be my diet!

Yipee!

WOW! I never thought about things like that. I think about getting healthy for me and my family, but I never thought that healthy living would directly benefit a perfect stranger. That is so great! I had to recieve blood, and I never really thought about the health of the donor, other than the obvious questions. This is one more reason to take care of ourselves, and thanks to WISH, we have a place to inform others of subtle, but important side effects of healthy living.

Keep the Faith!

What a great thing to do, Mel. I imagine those prunes help boost your iron a lot. They are yummy, too. I used to love to eat dried prunes straight from the box. I did that when I was pregnant :)
