So.

Last week, we split stayed between Bonnet Creek Deluxe 1br, Poly Lake View, and Cypress Palm regular 1BR.

We loved Bonnet Creek. First time stay. We'll be back.

Of course we love Poly, a home resort for us.

We did not like our first stay at Cypress Palms. At all.

The room was weirdly configured where the pull out couch bed took up the entire living room. The kitchen was a kitchenette, and the door between rooms was positioned perfectly so that our neighbors could hear the w/d and putting a 8 and 2 yr old to bed. Plus, the bed was uncomfortable.

We were booked two nights. After the first, I knew we wouldn't be back.

So. DVC website I go. 2nd week of Dec. We found a Kidani Savanna Studio!!!!!! One of our faves.

Moving to DVC on the fly is one of the reasons I really love DVC. I would have stayed anywhere on DVC.

I know that's not a given with DVC to find a last minute room. But, it has been the case more often than not for us that DVC works fantastic for us!

Glad to hear you still have the magic! I've often thought about Bonnett Creek but just can't give up using my DVC. We are taking a break from WDW during all of the renovations/ construction and heading over to Vero Beach next fall. Just love all the options DVC gives you. Score on the last minute room!

I own DVC, but bought Wyndham before I knew about DVC. My home resort is Star Island, the sister resort to Cypress Palms (and built by the same gentleman, Hillel Meyers). It is a very nice resort. However, the problem with both Star Island's deluxe 1 bedroom and Cypress Palms, is that they are the same number of points to stay at as Bonnet Creek. And Bonnet Creek has a lot more going for it as far as options and location.

We spent 9 nights at Bonnet Creek and now my kids don't want to stay at DVC. I rented someone's week for $55/night. My husband wasn't with us so they didn't ask me to take a look at ownership. I just received a letter today offering me pre-approval to buy at not less than $35K. I don't even want to know how much it is to buy in. I am pretty content with $55/night. :)

Go look on ebay.
There is a 105K contract coming up for sale today, bidding starts at $1, and there are no bids.
There is also a 350K contract up, owner is asking $3,597 or best offer. My offer would be $1.
The problem with buying a contract to stay at Bonnet Creek is that your maintenance fee will be more than the equivalent of the $55 a night you paid someone who has millions of points and gets special deals.
