I can't say I've never used that work (and others), but I am uncomfortable with how common it has become, especially in mixed company. Growing up, such language was just not used around women (even if they used it themselves), let alone children. I think manners, in general, have dwindled in more recent generations. That said, I must admit that I have encountered much better manners among the younger generation since moving to Florida.
