I really dont like it when your a good person at pirates, and you get stuck with a partner that is really bad, and they always lose. Then, you have to make it up for them, Plus, your doing all the work. Then, when you die and there left you know your gonna LOSE.

the only reason i play is because of the credits.. it gives a decent amount.

my advise is to find someone who is as good as you are and play with them, instead of complaining about people who are not as good as you.

I don't mind if I get stuck with "not as good" players... I just get annoyed at the ones who say "how do you shoot?" when they're on level 3.

Well, actually, i never really did play pirates when i joined VMK. When i played i actually played against AI's for practice. so please dont tell me i was bad at first too. I probably was, but i didnt play with the greatest people.

And besides, i was JUST ranting. Doesnt mean i hate them.

I don't really care if they are bad, simply because if I die and they are still alive I probably dont have much room to talk about being bad.

I have run into people controlling my team member and their own and openly admitting that they are going to make me lose (capture the flag and go the wrong way and hide in corner) .. This I do not like

Well.... there are many solutions for your annoyance:

1. Don't get yourself "stuck" with a "really bad" partner. If they are not on your friends list you always have the option to move to another lobby. If they are on your friends list then I don't think you would view it as being stuck with them, but I could be wrong.

2. If you die first, perhaps you have discovered areas of your pirate game that need some practice.

3. Don't play when you don't have a partner you are happy to play with at the moment.

Also, have you ever tried this? Let's say you play a game with someone and they make a very simple error. When you get back on dock NICELY help them learn how they could do better next time. Then offer to play again with them. You can help them become a better pirate AND a better partner.

I do have to add though: It's a team game. When my team is having a "stinky" pirate day, it's usually due to the entire team (myself included).

heh, I could not play with the majority of players here because I am not good at pirates. Guess thats why I always preferred fireworks anyways, My ability is all that matters. Don't have to worry about an unsportsmanlike partner or challenger.

I of course would play with friends if they asked me to.

This is why I don't play Pirates. I've been "yelled" at by my partner for not going fast enough, etc. Plus the credits are much easier with HM. Now if I can only get someone not to quit on me.

I tend to play HM now that it doesn't crash on me. I tend to find you don't get so many unsporting people in HM as you do in pirates (the number of insults I've had hurled at me and others on that game is ridiculous) and it doesn't matter so much how well the other players do.

Halloweenqueen, if you're on at the same time as me, I won't quit on you! I may crash once or twice though . I'm SoupDragon on VMK and if I'm about and free, I'll give you a game (same goes to any other DISers)!

This is the same reason why I, as others in this thread have stated they stay away from the Pirate Dock. This may be your rant, which is fine. But when you talk publicly like this, you really tend to make others think this is how all people think, when playing Pirates. I know that isn't so. But, sadly ... it is more often than not.

You'll probably never hear anyone talk that way about players in Mansion, or on this board either. What you do hear is about people quitting games. Which is completely different than calling them a "bad player" outright and basically to their virtual face. Thank goodness I do have Mansion and Fireworks to play. I would be broke if that's all I had was Pirates.

I'm not a good Pirate player at all. I admit that. How am I ever supposed to learn how to play this game, or get to the point that I would actually enjoy to play that mini game, if I have to listen to and put up with comments such as yours? I absolutely dred the fact that vmk sometimes puts playing Pirates in some quests. But, I struggle through it, and lose a thousand times just to complete the quest. It's not fun being "beat up" by comments heard so very often in Pirates. It's a game people. There are real people, with real emotions on the other side of the screen.

I'm sorry, but playing against AI players doesn't teach me anything. They are not real players, they are computer generated. Therefore, I won't practice like that either.

I just find your rant very offensive and mean. I'm sorry that I will never measure up to you or anyone else who is good, in playing Pirates. That doesn't make me a bad person, or made to feel that way.

i love pirates and i have good days and then i have bad days. i love to play but hat getting a key since no matter the color of key i get and empty treasure box, my new tally is 78 keys 3 prizes. but even if i get a "newbie" , a guest or just a "bad (as in not good)" player i always have words or encouragement. and i dislike when the other team will bash their player, i will also send them words or encouragement. to me the fun is in the game and the frosting on the cake is winning, but..... that is just me.
