Can't decide between WL (never stayed here), AKL (have stayed here), BW (never stayed) and POFQ (have stayed).

Can anyone help? I am having a hard time finding much info on BW. I would love to see more pictures of the rooms and the grounds. Is there a thread devoted to it here on the resorts board, like their is for other resorts? Couldn't seem to find it...

Thanks!

Does any of the theming in particular appeal to you? I love the Boardwalk but also love the Wilderness Lodge. Each have their own special appeal. The lodge is kind of dark and cozy, makes you feel like you're in the mountains even in the middle of Fl. BW is very light and airy and fun. If you don't like dark then go with BW. Actually BW is my favorite resort mainly because of the location it's so close to so much. I do agree with Desnik though, pick somewhere you haven't stayed before.

Well, I definitely don't mind dark. I loved AKL and that resort is some dark! The one thing holding me back from WL is the fact that I live in the woodsy northeast (though I know it's built to resemble the NW, when you're in the woods...you're in the woods). I love the location of it and the price!

I hadn't even thought about Boardwalk until DBF mentioned something about wanting to "stay near the place where that ESPN bar thing is". Men and their beer and sports! But, I appreciate beer and sports too, which is why we get along so well! He hasn't been to Disney in years and his first (and only) trip was short (4 days) and he stayed at a value resort and thought it was really nice. I just want him to be super impressed. I'm not knockin' values though, because I've stayed there too. But he can't understand why I can't decide where to stay because "after all, it's jut a bed". He doesn't get it, so that is why I need to figure out the best place and really wow him!

He'd think the AKL was real cool, especially if we had Savannah view. But to be honest, I'd like to try something new myself.

And I threw POFQ in there too, just to get opinions. It is the only moderate I would consider staying at again. I'd love to save some money, but I really want this trip to be amazing. I think regardless of where we stay it'll be amazing, but I really want amazing with a cherry on top, you know?

I know exactly what you mean! Which parks will you be going to most? The location of the BW is so great with walking/ferry distance to MGM and Epcot. If you plan on spending a lot of time at the MK, then WL would have better access. I love them both for different reasons!(BW & WL) I do really love the nightlife on the BW. They have strolling entertainers, and piano player, surrey bikes, the bars/dance hall. It is just such a lively atmosphere and if you love being in the middle of all the action then the BW is the place to stay! If you like a more cozy, laid back feel then go with WL. If I were you I would choose the BW because you were just at AKL(similar to WL being a lodge, LOL)and the atmosphere and location are great, plus the resort is beautiful.

We've stayed at AKL and POFQ. It was amazing to see the animals at AKL. I personally can't justify the prices of the deluxe's.

We added our oldest to our upcoming trip and had to decid what to do. WL was one of our thoughts because of the bunk beds. We decided to go 2 rooms at POFQ, it was still cheaper than WL.

You can still have an amazing trip with a cherry on top and save money. Plan a special something and save money on the room. Which ever way you go, you'll have a great time.

I've stayed at WL, AKL and BW. The negative to BW is lack of CS places to eat. It was very annoying. And we found room service to be lacking. Also, the rooms need to be updated. They are looking a little worn. Of those three (I've never stayed at POFQ, but have stayed at POR) I liked WL the best. Close to MK, WCC and Roaring Forks, beautiful grounds, etc. So, I guess I would choose WL. AKL comes in second, but you've stayed there already.

Essentially, you are in the same "predicament" of trying to choose between thse same resorts that I asked about in my thread. I too have stayed at FQ and AKL and am contemplating between AKL, WL and BW. I won't ever go back to FQ again though. It will definately be one of these other three resorts.

Daisylynn, we are fellow New Englanders and WL is our home away from home. We absolutely love WL atmosphere of the resort. My DH is a sport beer drinking kinda guy, and I have to let you know he loves the Territory Lounge at WL. There are wonderful food options at your finger tips in the resort. We also love the short boat ride to the MK.

Boardwalk is our other favorite resort. There is a lack of CS but you are a close walk to the world showcase that did not matter to us. DH loves jogging every morning around the Boardwalk lagoon. Everyday we loved having a small snack from the Boardwalk Bakery for breakfast. This was such a nice way to begin a day. Epcot is our favorite park, so we loved being able to get there so easy.

I would have a tough time suggesting one over the other not knowing you. But I suggest you do what we did on our last trip... we did a split stay at WL and BW. Keep in mind you can not go wrong with either.

That is one thing about BW is the counter service but we usually drive over to the CBR if we want something quick. I actually love the room service at the BW. We usually travel with 7-8 and get the breakfast for 4 in the morning, it feeds all of us with leftovers.

Thanks so much! I got home from work and found all kinds of great info. This is why I love DIS so much! :grouphug:

I've narrowed it down to WL and BW. I've always really wanted to stay at WL and I like the fact that the rooms have gone through a rehab recently. Also, it'll save us about 500 bucks! :thumbsup2 Of course, this money could be well spent getting a treatment at one of the spas. That is one thing that we would both enjoy VERY much when on vacation from our hectic work schedules.

We will be on the dining plan, and while BW does not have much for CS (never really realized that) we would be so close to World Showcase...there are lots of yummy places I could sample from over there! :rolleyes1 We'll spend lots of time in Epcot as well...and MGM. We're thrill ride junkies!

I'm calling my TA (who happens to be my aunt...very handy) tomorrow to book this trip. I'll probably end up just having her pick for me! She's stayed at every resort atleast twice (and why did I not become a travel agent?)...and every trip I've taken has been with her. I know that at this point, I'm not going to be disappointed with either one.

Thanks again for all the help!

We stayed at the WL last Dec and loved it...when we go in Dec that is the resort for us

Stayed in POR (similar to POFQ) and liked it very much...great food court, gift shop and room.

Stayed at the YC (almost the same as the BC) and LOVE IT! We are huge Epcot fans so the location is perfect for us. The BC side was super busy and noisy, alot more families than the YC side

Our next stay we are going to try the AK
