We are flying out this Friday for a week split between VWL and VB (with an extra night at OKW). Our boys, 12 and 13, have grown fins and swimming is their #1 priority this vacation. This trip we will focus on the water with 2 days at water parks, some pool hopping, and then on to Vero Beach. We will only spend two days at the theme parks. A nice relaxing trip!!! :)

The great thing is, we will be going back over Christmas, so there is no need to stress about keeping this trip NOT theme park focused!!!! We can do that over the holidays!!!! And we can only make two terrific trips in a year because we are DVC members!!!

I was at our community pool yesterday reading my Vacation MAgic, and a woman stopped me and asked if we were going to WDW and is it our frist trip. She told me they wanted to go SO bad, but went to AAA to get quotes and for a family of 5 for a week they were quoted over $8000!!!!!

Not much more than that and it equals the cost of our DVC membership!!!! Needless to say, I refered her to this website and told her with a little research, she can do MUCH better!!!!

Just had to share! Gotta love DVC!

Karen u are so right. It is a really flexible system. We just swapped some points for a beach vacation but, we didn't mind as we know we will be going back to WDW again soon plus we get to stay in the nicest accomodations. Also, to tide us over before our next trip, we are thinking of using points for a couple of nights in Disneyland Paris.

No theme parks for us this year. We were just there in Oct 2001 and will be going back Oct 2003. This year we are cruisin!

I agree. When we were down in May we spent sooo much time enjoying the VWL (one of our 'homes' :)) and didn't worry that we were missing park time since we are going back in Nov/Dec - thanks to DVC. Without DVC we would only have one trip a year, in lesser accomodations, and spend money over time. Sure, Disney accomplished their goal of getting us to leave more $$$$ with them for meals, souvenir, etc., but we are not complaining.

I know exactly what you mean. There's no need to squeeze everything in when you know that you'll be going again and again and again..................:)

WE feel that way too, but, I must admit, I can't give up going to the parks each trip! We do find we miss a lot of things though. We usually love to do the animation studio, but last year never got to it in TWO trips!!:D

We too feel so relaxed that we do not need to do the commando trips anymore. Because of DVC, looks like we're able to go more often. But hey, what would a trip to WDW be without a stop or 2 at the MK.:D

jimmytammy......Vacation MAgic is a quarterly magazine DVC members receive. It gives a bit of info on each DVC resort such as new activities, refurbishings, etc. Kind of like a "what's new" magizine. Being a member, you should be getting it. I just got the Summer 2002 last week.
