The major snow storm that hit hard caused me to stay home...and I was bored...well I know I could never be someone who just stays home all day long...I was totally bored...so I packed my suitcase.

I think I did a pretty good job but something is stinging at me that I am forgetting something...I packed an extra pair of running shoes (wearing the others) four shorts, one capri pants, 4 tanks, costumes (tried one on that I will wear for the 5k and I forgot how utterly ridiculas I look! It is in the suitcase but will be in the trash after that race!)
Gu's, and socks and swimwear and regular sneakers for walking around., shorts and shirts and sweats (top and bottom)..mositurizers, sunscreen and hairbrush..and crown for silly costume...
I will pack my music and phone last in my carry on...but still...something keeps nagging me I am forgetting something...and I will annoyed to find out I didn't pack it!:headache:

Aleve/Advil, just-in-case pre-cold vitamin meds, sunglasses/hat/visor, throw away clothes (just in case!), underwear, sports bras, calf sleeves, magic band(?), race waiver, pins (I always bring extra), charger for your various electronics, watch (if u have one), pjs.

Good luck next week!

Lol. I was thinking about packing my bags since September! How funny.

So far I have checked off all those lists and I have everything...

I just keep thinking there is something else missing....but when I check all the lists posted...I have it all already....I just hope whatever it is, its something I can buy down there! I have a few days to figure out what it could be.

Alarm clock.

No one forget that. We do have the hotel wake up call service...but what if? What if it didn't work that night or you slept through that phone call?

Don't forget an alarm clock. Not all of us are accustomed to getting up at , oh say 230 in the morning.

Just say NO to the Aleve and Advil.... That is at least from mid day the day before you half or full and until body functions resume to normal post half or full. Especially with the weather looking to be in the 60's for the starts.

Other than that, I am packing after the 5k on Thursday. It's a busy week. I have an unplanned staff meeting all day Tuesday. The expo on Wednesday AM and then a trip to Tampa and a benefits meeting late in the day back here. The 5k on Thursday followed by a trip home and return to the GF for check in and to meet my bro around 1. He is off to Tampa for the Lightning game while I head back home around 3 to meet a delivery truck - my new kayak is coming in...hopefully. Mary gets home about then and we move to the GF for the weekend and can finally relax.

I thought I would not miss being able to make a hard break from work and the flight over but maybe that was not all so bad.

I should have clarified that I was listing aleve and Advil for post-run (and back to normal) aches that might plague u from a possible injury or whatnot from running or other park activities. Thanks for clarifying for me coach!

Is there anything that is safe to take before the race to keep aches and pains at bay? I know they give out something at the medical stations on the course because I took some last time. They do record your bib number though.

That would be interesting to know...to avoid pain later on.

I remember they were squirting out that COOL stuff...cream of some sort...omg that was heaven on a hot day! I remember rubbing it on me under the hot sun and I felt that freeze...it was great while it lasted.

Was it bio freeze?

Tylenol.

You can take a dose of Tylenol as a pre-emptive measure and then again during the race. Just track how much you have tanker and do not exceed 4,000 milligrams per day

Also, the biofreeze. The green stuff pumped into your hand.

IMPORTANT NOTE on BIOFREEZE. No, I am not saying anything bad, only a reminder that once you apply biofreeze do not mop the sweat from you forehead until you pass the next water stop and can wash your hands. The residual left on your hands will get into your eyes if you do not rinse them post application. I will usually wait for the biofreeze until after the sponge station. I keep my sponge for most of the race and use it to sip my hands later on.

Its a good point because we tend to forget....minds are listening to music and trying to stay focused and 'happy'...I do remember I was wearing a nice Nike sweat/headband though...I didn't pack one this year so I will buy another.

Do you know which mile the sponges are at? Thanks!
