:smooth: I took it all out and repacked them .... I put the clothing in a 2.5 gallon storage baggie... mine: shirts in one, capris in one, shorts in one and undergarments in one.... his: shirts in one, bathing suite in one, undergarments and socks in one, shorts in one...

someone told me to do this... it will save room in your luggage and keep your clothing smell free... (from smokers).... I dont know if it does but will see... :confused3

I think it will be easier to unpack though....

Good idea!

Another good idea is to pack kids outfits in the plastic bags ... complete with shirt, shorts, undies and socks. That way they just have to pull a bag out in the AM and they have everything they need! :thumbsup2

I do all three kids clothes the ziploc bag - complete outfit in one bag - method. Its a lifesaver for us in the morning. We like to be at the parks at the opening and it saves us tons of time. I even pack the girls' hair accessories with the outfit, no more searching for a matching bow!

I've heard of doing this previously and thought I might try out next trip...What size bags do you all generally use?? I haven't bought any of those really big Ziplocs yet so I have no idea what to purchase.

TIA! :wizard:

Excellent idea. It's also a good idea to bring one of these baggies with a change of clothes in it to the park with you. This is especially true if you plan to ride something like kali river rapids at the AK where there is a potential that you will get soaked. My mom and I rode that in midsummer and even though it was hot...we were so soaked that our pants were chaffing (spell?) our thighs and we were just miserable so we had to take a bus all the way back to the room just to change. Bringing along a change would sure be a timesaver if you found yourself in the same boat...or raft so to speak. :goodvibes

We use the 2 gallon bags for our stuff. Started doing that after 9/11 when they increased security. I don't care for the idea of airport "security" pawing through our stuff. We take time and care in folding and packing and then someone goes thru your suitcase and unfolds and wads everything up and that really annoys me! We've always used ziploc bags for our bathroom stuff (believe me, once shampoo gets on everything, you learn this).

Well, aside from that I'm not sure who'll be smoking in or so close to your luggage that smoke odor will be a problem... even for adults, I'd tend to go with DisneyMomx7's suggestion. Not that anything like this WILL happen, but why not be prepared: Say one of your bags is chosen for a complete examination after you check it (different airports have different procedures) and somehow accidentally the one bag with all your underwear or all his shorts doesn't get put back in the suitcase - one of you is going to be doing a LOT of washing the one such item you wore on the plane.
If, on the other hand, you pack an entire outfit (or two) in each Ziploc bag and one disappears, at least you've still got MOST of your clothing.

That is an excelent point :thumbsup2
