We own a 2005 SCION that I bought in 9/04, well... our jobs at the time were over 40 miles each way away and we made a few out of state trips and now I've racked up about 35,000 miles... ouch! Well I love my car but I'm thinking of getting a new one.

My only real complaints about the SCION are the speed (it's slow to move) and the noise.

I saw the HHR the other day and really liked the style and the price is not bad either. It's new and trendy which I like and is obvious by my past car choices (Focus, the year it came out, SCION, now HHR).... so it seems like a good choice.

My payment would go up between 20-30 a month and I would start over on a car loan, BUT I'd rather pay a bit more monthly then have repairs... our warrenty on the SCION exp's in 1,000 miles.

We don't drive as much now so I'd put way less on the new car which would be a plus. I'm just afraid if I don't get a new car now, when I do try to trade I may have too many miles to get much for the SCION.

Any advice, anyone own an HHR and could give me some positives/cons, etc.
Going for a test drive tomorrow. :confused3

We just rented a car to drive to WDW and lo and behold it was an HHR! It was the cutest little car I have ever driven. It had tons of room and we were able to get several large suitcases in the back as well as an ample back seat. The passenger seat had a ton of leg room and both seats were really comfortable. it was a dream to drive and handled beautifully. Although we didn't keep exact gas mileage it had a 15 gallon ish tank and we drove 1400 miles on only 3.5 tanks of gas.

My only complaint is that the windshield and back window are tiny, and it gave the feeling of looking through a tunnel to see. It also has a fairly large blind spot on each side and that took a bit of getting used to.

Is it just me, or does the HHR look like a PT Cruiser and a Trail Blazer mated?

I was looking at the HHR on the web last night and one thing I noticed was that it had a 4cyl engine. It may not have much get up and go either.

LJC1861, how did it do in that department?

From the way it took the mountain coming back into Asheville, I would say pretty well! It did much better than my 4 cyl. Toyota Rav4 ( which I just love BTW.....)
