I officially hate Epic Mickey

Gasp! Oh well, I have no hand-eye coordination so I wouldn't have played it anyway. But I can go to town on bejeweled!

Aside from the obvious camera angle complaints, I LOVE this game too!!

A lot of serious gamers nowadays have been complaining about how EASY games have become. You can save at every scenario, you have a guidebook telling you exactly what to do, or even worse, it plays like a movie and you don't really need to do much to advance the story.

I think it's great that Disney has made this more challenging, and they made the replay value high because you CAN'T 100% complete the game in one go. That's the point of all the choice we get. It's like reading through one of those "choose your adventure" books and being disappointed that you can't read EVERY scenario because doing that doesn't give you a congruent story.

*Raises hand* I would be one of those.

Many, MANY RPGs can not be completed 100% on the first, original play through. This is nothing that is new and special to Epic Mickey and is meant to increase the replay value.

I also giggled when I heard someone complain how long it took them to finish the game (30 hours, but not the PP on this thread (don't want them to think I am giggling at them)). I would be complaining if it only took 30 hours to beat the story! That's not a game! That's a couple of chapters! The games I play usually run a minimum of 60 hours to complete the storyline.

I have played the game 3 times thru now - being good, being evil and being balanced. I now have 100% completion. I loved seeing all the differences that happen based on choices. Once you get use to the camera it is pretty cool.

...Let me expand on my post. My 13 yr old nephew finished the game in 23 hrs. He giggled when I told him it took me 30. But, I giggled at him when I realized that he didn't complete as many tasks. I was excited that it took me longer.

After I told him about how much he missed (both game play and history), he is now replaying again to catch up and finish what he missed.

I am absolutely in love with the little nuggets of obscure Disney trivia scattered throughout the game, and think the whole thing can be summed up in one word: Clever. Warren Specter's appreciation and reverence for the world of Disney shines through brilliantly, all the while adding a new, dark twist to the classic stories and attractions.

THAT BEING SAID: There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for the downright INFURIATING camera angles in Epic Mickey. How is it that other games don't have nearly as many problems with this as this one, and this is from the same company pioneering all sorts of new technology on a daily basis? I think the OP's assessment of 80% awesomeness/20% stinks is pretty spot on. And boy, what a maddening 20%...
