...how scrapbooking can become an obsession!!

I just finished my very first two pages, and I enjoyed it immensely! I'm just a beginner so they aren't very fancy, but I like them:). I also understand how people can devote hours and hours to it.....two basic pages took me an hour and a half!

I decided to take up scrapping as a new hobby for 2007, and I am starting with our 2006 Disney trip. The pages I did today are from my birthday dinner at Chef Mickey. Someday I'll figure out how to post pics here, but for now I am just happy to introduce myself and tell you all how much I enjoy your layouts. I've looked at LOTS of them over the past couple of weeks, and I am so impressed with the creativity here! Thanks for the inspiration!

Better get DH building some new shelves - after a little over a year I've got 6 12x12 albums (with 2 more filling up) and 3 7x7 (with 2 waiting for me to get my act together):rolleyes1

You may want to hide that credit card now to save trouble later :rolleyes1

Welcome to our Cozy Corner!
There are some rules to follow.
1) Hide all receipts
2) Carry extra shopping bags in your car
3) If you get caught, blame someone on the other side of the US or in the UK for enabling you. That way some of us can still get together
4) Find all available hiding places now for future use
5) Have a blast with your new addiction.. um.. I mean... hobby ;)

Oh you are so hooked already! LOL! That's great that you love it so much and have only done 2 pages. You'll be a bonafide addict very quickly. There are so many things to love about scrapping. To be able to couple it with Disney is just fantastic. :cool1:

How quickly they fall :wave2:

Welcome to the world of paper and shapes and embellishments and brads and adhesives and stickers and ribbon and oh, I'll stop before I have to go order something online!

DH says I collect more than I scrap but I love having what I need available for that perfect moment of inspiration!

There are great scrappers here and elsewhere on message boards to ask any questions and look in the Technical Board for how to post pictures. It's not hard once you try!

I love these rules. I need to print them out and hang on my scrapping wall.

You may want to try some easy pages too and save yourself time and allow yourself to do more!! I stick to basic pages and get more done. I do not have the time to spend hours on 2 pages.

Tammy I dug these up from an old post.

Thanks Spinning!

I lifted this from another web site BB I visit! THought it was cute

A Scrapbookers Rights

A Scrapbooker is entrusted with documenting and safely preserving family
photos in an album to be treasured by future generations. Creating a
Scrapbook is an honorable and important task. As a Scrapbooker, you are
entitled (but not limited) to the following rights:

You have the right to take as long as you want to complete one album page.
This may be five minutes or two weeks.

You have the right to purchase a certain scrapbook item for no other reason

than because
a) you like it
b) you think it's cute
c) you'll never find it again
d) you know you'll use it someday.

You have the right to a workspace of your own. This may be the basement,
your college student's old bedroom, or the kitchen table. It's yours.

You have the right to scrapbook when inspiration strikes--whether the
dishes are done or not.

You have the right to request peaceful, kid-free, stress-less scrap
time--guilt-free.

You have the right to create pages that reflect and celebrate the spirit of

the one person who is usually NOT in the photograph: You.

You have the right to put whatever you want on your album page. This
includes, but is not limited to: patterned papers, die-cuts, stickers and
Punch-Outs. You may place as many or as few photos per page as you deem
appropriate.

You have the right to do nothing more than snack and socialize at a 6-hour
cropping party.

You have the right to value your personal scrapbooking style to be as
important as your photographs. You are creating a treasure-and part of that

treasure is you.

You have the right to create your own legacy, one page at a time.

I have my husband trained, he knows he better not even ask if he sees a bag from a scrapbook or craft store. When we travel, he knows that we are going to find all scrapbook stores in that town and we won't stop to eat until the scrapbookers say so.

You aren't kidding about being addicted. I see it this way, at least it isn't drugs, alcohol, or gambling, although I have thought about how much more scrapbooking items I could buy if I won the lottery. Hey, it I won the lottery, I'd have to take this addiction (in my case obcession) and turn it into a business, because I can't get enough.

Have Fun Scrapping

Welcome aboard! :)

For me, scrapbooking is my therapy, and let's face it, any kind of good therapy is worth the expense. :tilt:
