Hey everyone,
I feel so much for all of the coastal dwellers here.
And I pray that everyone in TX and LA are doing okay. Ike just passed through Missouri today! I know it was nowhere near what everyone south of us has had to deal with, but boy was it scary!
We were at my parent's farm about and hour or so south of St. Louis this morning when it hit. I have never seen constant winds that strong in my life. We lost power about 6:30 am, and just sat around and watched and listened to the wind. We only had about 1 and 1/2 inches of rain, and the wind really didn't do much damage (which I can't believe). But then I heard about all the rain we had back home in St. Louis. Some places had 6 or more inches of rain in just a few hours time. Creeks backed up and flooded roads and people had to be rescued!
Who would have ever thought that Missouri would have 2 hurricane remnants come through the State in 2 weeks time! Hanna came right through, too, but it was nothing compared to Ike.
As scary as this storm was for us, I can only imagine what it was like to live through the full brunt of Ike!
I really hope everyone is okay out there, and that the damage can be fixed without too much work! My heart really goes out for you all!
