We just returned from our trip yesterday. And I was soo sad to leave free dining :sad2: I now have to cook again......

Because of all the other great DISer that helped me put with their reviews, I wanted to post my own. Now I will apologize in advance, I did not take pictures of everymeal. Being new to dining reviews made it hard to remember, and the fact that at times we were just so very hungry!!!

We stayed at the POP for 8 nights, and there was 5 of us.
There was Me: not too picky, but my meat must be lean, and full cooked/sort of dry :lmao: I am a huge sweet lover, but still love my veggies, and fruit.

DH: Lover of seafood, and steak. (he never gets either at home unless eating out)

DD: She is 12 and she is a vegetarian or 'pesco-vegetarianism' for a more technical term. She occasionally eats fish, although that she has said that she will not be eating it anymore.

DS: LOVES seafood!

DS2: Since he is only 2 sometime he eats, sometimes he dosen't eat much. He shared with everyone else this trip.

We actually did quite a bit of sharing of counter service meals. We would generally just order 3 counter service meals for lunch, and share around. We found this still to be LOTS of food!

So on with the reviews:

I'm in!

To post photos, first you must upload them to a photo sharing website, for example photobucket. The Dis also has a site plus there are other sites.

Once the photos are uploaded, copy their address and then using the moutain icon, paste it into your post.

So for our first meal we have Chef Mickey's.

I know that people are hard on Chef Mickeys, but we liked it. Our dinner was at 7:30, and the place was still nice and clean. Here I did not get pictures of all our plates because we were starving, and sometimes I was not at the table........The character interaction was really good too. Our kids had a great time!

Onto the food:

Corn bread, shrimp with sauce, mac n cheese, potato salad, and a cucumber artichoke salad.

I really liked the cucumber/artichoke salad, it was really good! So was the potato salad. Everything else was decent.

THis plate had prime rib, carrots, broccoli with cheese, scallop potatos, mickey ravioli

Dh said that everything was really good on this plate, and I agree, although I did not try the beef. In particular I liked the potatos, and for DH that & the prime rib were favorites!!! :thumbsup2
There was also lots of other salads here, and the salmon was very tasty!!

As for desserts:

We tried (clockwise) Cheesecake, bread pudding, and key lime pie. All of them are also very good! Yummy I luvs me some dessert!!! :woohoo:

This plate was simple stuff, chocolate cake, carrot cake, a cookie, & a mickey dome. Everything was good. One comment about the mickey dome was that it is REALLY chocolatey..... you can't really taste the oreo. It is just fugdey and chocolatey. Great for chocolate lovers, I just thought that you would be able to taste the Oreo taste.

Overall we enjoyed Chef Mickeys, and thought that they had good standard fare, and some really tasty stuff as well! :thumbsup2

Heres the kids & myself with Pluto!

Next up....

Lunch at Columbia Harbour House in MK

Dinner at Kona Cafe

Will post tomorrow--Good night

Columbia Harbour House: No pictures from here sorry!

We wanted to go here so that DD could try the Lighthouse sandwich (Hummus with tomato-broccoli slaw). She had that and the Apple crisp. Both were very good!

I had the BLT salad, and that was very yummy as well! The lettuce was nice and fresh, and as for the chicken, it was the 'chicken nuggets' that Disney has changed to. But really the nuggets are just shortened chicken strips :thumbsup2 I had the prepackaged chocolate cake also, and I really enjoyed it, it was very chocloatley!

Dh had the fried fish basket. And enjoyed it. He also liked the chocolate cake, but could not eat it all.

We shared these three meals with our boys too, and it was plenty of food.
Overall I think we would definatley go back here considering we enjoyed everything ;)

Oh, I did find this picture of the apple crisp-

KONA CAFE:

First off my DD and I both ordered smoothies. I had the Orange-Passionfriut, and it was fantastic! YUM
Heres DD's and she had a Strawberry-Banana, and it was much sweeter than mine, but still very yummy!

For food I went with the Macadamia Nut & Chive-crusted Mahi-Mahi - Served with watercress salad, warm Shiitake-soy vinaigrette, and sticky rice. (allears) THis was great! As I mentioned earlier I do not like under cooked meat, and this was just right for me. I think that you can taste the chive more tham the macadamia though. THe watercress was new to me, but I liked it. The dish was just very good overall! I am sorry that the picture is blurry, I need not realize until all the food was in my tummy!!!

DH had the Teriyaki-style New York Strip - sirloin strip grilled with pineapple teriyaki glaze served with mashed Yukon gold potatoes and stir-fried broccolini

DSC08294.jpg

DD had the Pan-Asian Noodles - Asian egg noodles with sliced chicken, pineapple, seasonal vegetables, and a House-made sweet-and-sour sauce without the chicken of course. They nicely added some stir fried tofu. She really enjoyed it, and I thought it was yummy. It had a nice variety of veggies. And I am sad to say that some how this picture got deleted off my camera :(

The boys just shared a meal here because DH and always give them some of ours too.
They had grilled chicken with pasta with tomoato sauce & veggies. An ice cream sundae for dessert. I like the mickey plates.

For our desserts:We are too big of pigs and forgot to take pictures--I am very sorry, but we enjoyed!!

I had Banana-Chocolate Creme Brulee- I thought i died & went to dessert heaven This was so tasty, and the best creme brulee I have ever had! THere is a lovely layer of chocolate underneath the custard, and a slice of banana 'arched' over the dish. The top of the banana was also caramelized. Yummy!!!

Dh had White Chocolate Cheesecake he really liked it.

And DD had a Kona Kone this was so cute, but it is big and she could not eat it all :(

I'm in. We ate at Kona also and thought it was terrific.

Next up: Cantina de San Angel

We didn't plan on going to this counter service because I had my heart set on Tangerine Cafe because we enjoyed it so much on our last trip... But we were all being a little crabby that morning so I said to DH and DD to do whatever :headache:

I missed out on mediterranean food, but we all love Mexican food too. It was all very yummy!

DH had the Cantina Nachos - Tortilla chips, beef, cheese, tomatoes, jalepeno peppers, sour cream, and black refried beans. There was lots of stuff on them and they were good! We all kinda stole from him. :rolleyes1

DSC08422.jpg

DD had the Ensalada Mexicana - Made with lettuce, black refried beans, grilled chicken, tomato, cheese, sour cream, and Mexican salsa. WITHOUT the chicken again.
She did not realize that this was a salad (I don't think she read the name ;) ), but she loved it all the same. There were a lot of beans on it so that she got enough protein.

DSC08421.jpg

I had the Plato Combinacion - Chicken taco, Beef burrito and a Quesadilla served with Black refried beans and Mexican salsa. I liked this, and shared most of it with DS5. I really liked the beef burrito, it is ground beef.
One thing I will mention because I am picky about my meat is that the chicken taco was not all white meat. Usually I ONLY eat white meat, but I did eat some of the taco, and with the sauce and cheese it was hard to tell the difference. The salsa it came with was really tasty, and had a good spice to it, but we like our spicy food!

DSC08420.jpg

For dessert you can only get churros, which I somehow did not get a full picture of, but the are a very yummy :goodvibes pastry 'stick' . You can see them in the corner of the picture above though. They are quite big. We enjoyed!

Fiesta mariarita- I got this drink from the stand just past the Cantina & it was OK. There is alot of booze in it :rotfl2: So that kinda over powered the fruity flavours. It sure does warm the tummy though. LOL
