we're staying not staying in a one bedroom and we're not staying at OKW! :earseek:

OKW is our home resort and we absolutely love it there; but, we're a little short on points this year because we're saving to bring family (we'll need a GV). On our last trip, DH mentioned that he'd like to see what it was like staying in the Boardwalk area. So...when I made our mid-Feb reservations late last month, I booked a studio at SSR (we wanted the sofabed instead of a second "real" bed) and waitlisted for either BWV or BCV. Well, much to my surprise, when I checked the lovely new on-line capabilities of the DVC Member website yesterday, I found that our waitlist had come through for BCV. :cheer2:

So, tell me...can two OKW one-bedroom snobs find DVC happiness in a BCV studio? Will the ability to walk to Epcot and MGM and the array of eateries and entertainment that the Boardwalk area offers outway the spaciousness of the OKW 1 bedroom and the convenience of in-room laundry? Is SAB really that great?

We'll find out in 46 days!!

The studio will be smaller, we have no problem with the studio at all. :Pinkbounc

Hey there Durham, ME from So Portland ME!

There is a definate difference between the BWV and the BCV, so if you don't care for the BCV, don't let it prevent you from trying BWV sometime in the future.

As for the laundry - that change for you would happen with any switch to a studio - no matter what resort. BUT the BCV laundry is indoors on the 4th floor, as opposed to having to take the laundry to the nearest pool as you would at OKW. Makes it much more convenient to do it early or late in the day, or during dinner on a park break etc.

As for SAB, I love it, so am very biased there!

Hope you enjoy your stay!

We are stuido people :scared1: Is the way some people here seem to react, but we are out of our room so much, that the space doesn't make a difference to us. I bring a few clothes(do wash frequently-every other day or two...it's like therapy for me - a chance for an hour of peace and quiet), but there are very few suitcases lying around. I like to bring a shoe bag to keep things off the floor. And doing more cooking than toasting a bagel or microwaving a slice of pizza is doing too much on my vacation. Our summer ones, we go to the summer house and I make meals(not a vacation to me) so WDW has to be restaurants, pools and parks. :cheer2:

We are owners at OKW too, and love it, but if we are staying in a studio, BCV is always my #1 choice. I love BCV, and we like the studio arrangement much better there for the two of us. I think you will be very happy there. The feel of BCV is kind of like a cross between OKW and BWV, and is so close of Epcot. My personal taste, but I like it much better than BW.

I think you will enjoy a visiti to BCV. My parents (very good ones because they turned me on to DVC) always get a studio and absolutly love the studios at BCV.

I usually want a 1 or 2 bedroom but enjoy a studio for shorter stays.

We took a trip to Hilton Head and got a 3 bedroom grand villa...my parents got the studio a few steps away. I enjoy staying and cooking in the room, my parents use the room rarely. So depending on how you use it, the size (forgive the pun) may matter.

Having stayed in both, I can confirm you will be ok :sunny:

Enjoy your 356 square foot experience :teeth:

Seriously, you will enjoy BCV Studio but will probably hanker for the OKW space and huge living area

cheers

Have done both studios and one-bedrooms. The thing that has changed us from studio's to one-bedrooms is the king sized bed. On our last stay in a studio, DH actually slept on the sofa bed a night or two. :rotfl: :rotfl: We're just more comfortable in a king bed.

That is the wonderful thing about DVC, there is something for everyone!

You will probably be fine. My philosophy is I'd rather stay in a studio at WDW than be at home!!

We will miss that king bed! I doubt DH will resort to the sofabed, but I might! ;) :rotfl2:
