In a few hours I will be heading to the animal hospital to be with my beloved Koko when he passes over the rainbow bridge.
He has been ill awhile and liver cancer that is not curable has been confirmed. He has been in the hospital for 6 days now, and he has gone downhill over night. Please be with me in your thoughts and prayers.. I need them. This is not the first time I have been with a dog of mine when they pass.. and it doesn't get easier.
I will be holding him in my arms and telling him what a faithful freind and companion he was...

UPDATE... I held him in my arms and with him also was my DH, DD and her DFI.
We held him for awhile and let him now how much we all loved him and sratched his favorite spots..ears and tummy.
I told hime he was a good boy and was due a rest.. he fought hard and long.
I hold in my heart an image of him and his "sis" AuggieDoggie playing together in a green field over the rainbow bridge... But it hurts so incredibly much..evewn though I know I have kept him from suffering needlessly. :sad1:

Most certainly! P & PD being sent your way and will be thinking of you.

:grouphug: I am so very sorry. You will be in my thoughts and Prayer's.

I'm very sorry about Koko. My favorite ferret went over the Rainbow Bridge due to old age a little over a week ago, so I'm sure she'll keep and eye out for KoKo to make sure he knows all of the hot spots to run and play (she was the motherly type and loved dogs too).

Try to keep your chin up and know that Koko will leave this world the same way he has lived, knowing he was loved unconditionally and loving you back the same way!!

So very sorry to hear that about Koko, MJ. Being with our little ones as they pass over that bridge is a comfort to both I think. My best.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

:sad1: I'm so sorry you are having to go through this. I've helped a few of my furbabies pass to the Bridge and it's never been easy.

Sending prayers your way to help you through this difficult time. :grouphug:

Sending warmest thoughts to you and your beloved dog. He is so beautiful.

May you find comfort in knowing that you gave him a loving home and were the last face he saw before crossing over The Bridge.

hi, I will think really positive thoughts for you. It is the hardest thing you will ever do, but it is the most humane thing ever
Hugs
Stacie

Thank you all for the prayers and hugs.....Koko was my third child..and now he is gone.

This is helping me right now...

The Last Battle
If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done,
For this -- the last battle -- can't be won.
You will be sad I understand,
But don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree
It is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you
Who has to decide this thing to do;
We've been so close -- we two -- these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.
