Been on the phone with my sister all morning. We finally have some concrete news. My Dad is in the hospital with pancreatitis. In Florida.

I am in Ohio and my sister is in New York.

My mom, for those of you who don't know, suffered a ruptured cerebral aneurysm about 12 years ago. She is not able to left alone due to residual seizures and she has a ton of medicines to take. She is not capable of remembering if or when she should take the medicines.

I am stuck in the snow, so my sister is currently looking for flights to Florida. Somebody needs to be there to be sure - One, that my Dad has the correct medical care [my Mom cannot make those decisions] and - Two look after my Mom.

Any and all prayers and pixie dust are welcomed.

Thank you for being my family when I need you guys the most.

 I totally understand and sympathize with the frustration of not being able to drop and run! It's so hard when you are far away and can't be there!

:wizard: P&PD for your Dad, your mom, and the rest of your family. Safe travels to your sister. :wizard:

Sending TONS of prayers & pixie dust to you and all of your family!! Remember, we love you and are here for you!!!

Good thoughts headed your way. I know I'm not local, but if there is anything I can do, let me know. (I have family in Florida, where are they?).

He is at the St. Cloud Regional Medical in Tampa.

Thank you for the Pixie Dust.

Currently my sister and her husband are arguing over who is going down there. Her husband has off from work next week and wants to drive the truck and boat back. My sister NEEDS to see my Dad to know he is alright. Either way, my parents will now be going back to NY in the near future and not being snow birds for the winter.

Update: He is being admitted and is getting a room. Sis is flying down tomorrow and staying until Sunday. Depending upon what she finds, her DH will fly down next week to do the drive back.

Still unsure of what caused the positive to the pancreatitis test because cat scans don't show anything. We are in a wait and see pattern right now.

Thank you for the continued support.

Ann- We are about an hour and a half away but if you need me to do anything let me know.

Rebecca

Oh Ann I'm so sorry to hear this. It is so hard to be here and they are there.
I have a simular situation myself. My Dad is in intensive care in Florida and I'm here in Rhode Island. There is no way that I can go there. My sister who has grown kids has decided that she should be in control and go. It's hard to not be able to go.
I'll be sending positive energy your way.
Hugs to all of you.

Please let me know if you want to chat or if I can help. I'm here for you.

Ann
just saw this now. thoughts and prayers are with you all. wish I was closer to help

Thank you Rebecca. The good thing is my Brother-in-law's brother lives just 20 minutes away. He went to the hospital after work, picked up my Mom, went back to the hotel to get all her medicines and will keep her at his house tonight. These are not even his relatives and he is willing to do this.

Holly, you totally understand where I am at. My sister is the take control one in our family. That is the job she deemed was hers and we aren't allowed to interfere.

My Dad called me a little while ago. He is still in some pretty bad pain. You can just hear it in his voice. Tore me up inside. He will always be the big strong man who could pick me up hanging on his arm. He isn't supposed to be the one who needs me. They are keeping him for a minimum of 3 days with no food or liquids. He tried to eat ice and he said it hurt within minutes.

They still don't know what caused it yet. My sister won't let him leave until they do. She is tenacious that way. She will hound those doctors until they give her the complete answer.

Thank you all for you well wishes and prayers and pixie dust. You have no idea how much you all mean to me.

I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. Thank goodness your BIL's brother is there to look after your Mom.

Sending extra dose of Pixie dust to Dad, Mom, and you.

Holy cow, Ann...I'm thinking about you guys...yikes! I'm here if you need anything, but I know that there isn't much I can do in PA...

My dad had pancreatis a number of years ago and I remember it being scary to watch your dad be sick...but he made a full recovery...so I will pray for your dad to do the same. :)

 :flower3:
