.. can somone more experienced just pack and go with us???? :goodvibes I am a bit scared of the unknown.. Can ya tell?

Oh...perfect timeing...were going on the 10/22/05...so I'll just be getting off the ship the day your boarding.... :teeth: So I'll already be packed, ready and waiting to go along with you.....lol :teeth:

But back to your topic....a budget is a very personal topic...one could go and spend TONs of dough on the ship...as you've seen noted...but then others could go and still have a great time and spend next to nothing.... As you said your DH likes his drinks...and you like some wine now and then...I have to say....the bar tab was our biggest expence....next was shutters (photos). Now we didn't plan on drinking as much as we ended up doing....but we had a blast every day/night of the cruise. I tryed to stick with the drink of the day to save a little and DH purchased the beer mug which ended up saving us some in the long run also. This year I'm planning on bringing some of my own boozes along with mixers...and maybe some beer for DH....Of course we won't be able to stay away from the Bahama mama's all week...but mixing our own here and there will save some. Excursion...book your own.....they can end up saving alot....but also don't feel like you HAVE to do an excursion....you can just explore the islands on your own. (I'd do some researching on the area before)...On our first cruise we only booked one excrusion....and the other stops we just did our own thing...This time were also just booking one excursion (actually the one we booked last year but didn't end up doing ....long story). Now back to the budget....Shutters is another big money getter....the ship photographers take some great photos... and if your anything like me...you love pictures. They can be real hard to turn away.
Good luck

Is soda included or do you have to pay or cups of water, etc..Help me out please..

Soda is included....no charge. UNLESS you order it from a bar or roomservice. Other than that soda is free at the drink station on deck 9 and in all the dinning rooms....along with Castaway Cay. The drink station also has some juice, milk and water...all free. Really the only beverages you have to purchase are smoothies, mixed drinks, beer and wine....

Our first cruise as well. Hopefully our 16 year old boys can meet up.

We have also been to WDW a few times but this brings a entirely new meaning to planning... I am a compulsive planner ;) I am getting a bit overwelmed but loving every minute of it...

Kim

My 16yr old says he will go to the stack but isn't sure if he will do the teenage stuff... :sad2: I think that is just nerves.. He plays guitar, so we are bringing it for him (just in case)

I am a compulsive planner also.. and overwhelemed is a word. I guess once you have cruised it will be better to judge.. so I guess this trip will just be on a wing and prayer. I have the passport book, but the spending money can range a whole lot. some people say they spend a little and then the I hear you can spend alot. I dont know what to believe.

I am sure we will have a great time! :goodvibes

You have a drink for me and I will have a drink for you.... :goodvibes

Thanks for all the info!

Guitar that is great my son plays the bass guitar....to bad we are flying or I could have it bring it we could have entertainment. :goodvibes

My son is fairly shy but once he gets to know you look out...she doesn't shut up.....gets that from his mom I think....lol

I know both my kids are planning on hanging out with the teen group but for excursions I think we are traveling as a family. I want to make sure they see the islands as we have never been before.

Does your son ever come in these boards. My DS does once in a while and even started a thread for teens going on our cruise but no replies his username is bass_89. Maybe they can chat a bit.

Have a great day

My 16yr old plays electric and acustic. If we could find a drummer we could have a band... LMAO!!

Mine is a bit shy also, but he will get into it once he gets over being shy. I haven't schedule the excursion yet, but am looking into it... I think taking a cab to the beaches sounds like a good idea...

Do you have a link to your son's board? I could forward to mine to check out.. :cool1:

Yikes.....I am about computer illiterate as they come (I can't even spell the word) :rotfl2:

However his user name is bass_89. If he can try a search under that user name he might be able to find it. If not I can have my DS start a new one.
